This very short game has a peculiar background. A few months ago I was approached by someone called Angie to create a present for her boyfriend, Matt. Money being short, this was to be a combined Christmas, Valentine's Day and anniversary present. He was a fan of my games, especially the ones set in the Lands of Dream, so this could be a really special gift for him. Now, this isn't how I normally work, and there were other things I was supposed to be working on, but how can you say no to being part of something so sweet? So I said yes.

I thought a bit about what sort of game to make, until eventually it became clear to me that I needed to go back to Oddness Standing, the setting of The Book of Living Magic, and make a game about one of the most memorable characters from that town. Strangely enough, it probably ended up being the most personal game I've ever made.

How to play:

Use your mouse to click on things. That's really all there is to it. To have fun, play slowly and examine the details. Note: there used to be a mute button, but a cat ate it, so now there isn't one. Well, there is, but you wouldn't want to try and get it out again.

Amazing Story and Art I was quite depressed near the end because of what you can guess if you've gotten to the end. It was pretty fun and simple I can tell you didn't mean it to be very much of a challenge but instead a story of Screech and his Life. This is a Master Piece ;)

Wow... this game is justâEU¦ so powerful. It is a piece of art in itself, and you have earned yourself the title of a tear-jerker, and in a good way. I am utterly amazed by this.

Friend, I've been a member of Newgrounds for 8 wonderful years. It's submissions like this that made them wonderful. Way to go.

This isn't a "game". It's an interactive experience. It is a grand medium of storytelling that is underutilized.

Several of the book titles made me laugh out loud, and I loved the many nerd-pop-culture references mixed in with the clickables. If there is a God, I hope he has Voltaire, Sagan and Dining In Morrowind in his collection.

But it was the powerful, well-worded reflection upon the flow of a successful life lived that did it for me, and everyone else. It made sit here and think about my own, how it has gone, how it is going, how it will yet end... and I have to say, if I left here tomorrow, I could do it knowing that I've seen and done and danced and loved and been loved.

Now, how many Newgrounds submissions do -that- to a person?

Mixed with the beautiful motivation behind the creation, and you get top marks from me. Keep being thoughtful, keep creating. We need it.
