A short narrative animation about a princess who recieves a special letter.

Sorry for the awful voiceacting, hopefully I will get better in the future.
Thank you for watching! Thanks for the compliments and critiques! :)
Wow! Thanks Newgrounds for the Daily 3rd place and for the frontpage appearance! :D

(READ THIS!!!!!!)
*This may bother others (I didn't realize about this issue, sorry for those who felt tricked) but this movie is about the person of Jesus Christ (not religion).
If you are bothered by that fact, I am sorry but THIS is what the story IS.*

I noticed some people didn't understand the story, and to be honest, it may be hard for one to understand.
So here's what the story actually meant (sorry for any grammatical errors):

This story is NOT about love in a romantic way, I'm talking about REAL love. Unconditional love shared between a parent and a child.

The princess symbolize the everyday person, you and me (gender does not really matter)
She is alone and gives letters to her prince.
I represented the six princes as her family, friends, boyfriend, money/fame, drugs and religion but overall I just wanted to convey anything that one seeks for in life.
And obviously, how life goes on, everything that the princess (we) admire rejected us, and left us hurt, in pain.
Pain leaves a scar in us whether it's emotional or physical (as if it almost felt like you were stabbed on the back, or pierced by a sword). Hence I showed that pain in a physical manifestation of the princes stabbing the princess.

Here's where I placed the gospel:
"The Prince" is Jesus Christ.
The letters the princess recieves and rejects is Jesus' voice.
Despite that, we still try to find the other prince (which was foolish because a prince, rather, "The Prince" was right there behind the door)
It's when the princess, comes to the point of crisis (the lowest point) to make her realize that she had no prince to give letters to anymore (have anyone to seek out for to love/ be loved).
Then she realizes the letters (voice of Christ) in her life.
When she listens, she hears "The Prince" knocking on the door.

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." (Revelation 3:20)
The Prince is here, waiting for you, knocking at the door of your heart.
He wants you to open it, but he will wait for you.
Jesus is patient, kind and eternal = Love

Jesus is waiting for you to come join him, so you can have eternal life, a neverending tale, an awesome journey to his kingdom.
He wants to go there with you, together.

In the story, "The Prince", Jesus was the princess' seventh prince.
7 is the common number used in the gospel.
I based if off from the biblical story of the Samaritan Woman from John 4.

I have nothing against this being about religion, but the thing is that if none of the viewers understand the message, then you did not do a very good job getting the message across.
I think the biggest issue is how you decide to illustrate, and word things.

I will shorten this into two simple problems, each falls into one of the above problems.

You decided to make the girl a princess, which you say symbolizes the everyday person. However, a princess is the exact opposite of an everyday person, a princess is someone who has a birthright to be seen as better than the average person. A princess is also associated with love as in romantic love, and the fact that she is looking for a prince only strengthens this. Why did you make her a princess? I understand that the two characters are much more fitting together if she is a princess, and they have mutual respect and all that, but this does not show kind and eternal Jesus-love, this shows love as in babymaking-love.

Another problem is how you word things in itself. I will focus on one statement, which is the last part when you said "what happened then is between the two of them", or something similar. The fact that you make what they did after "entering the kingdom" a secret, does definetly not hint to Jesus-love, but babymaking-love.

What I am trying to say is, if you take away the text you wrote about your thoughts behind the flash, all there is, is a story of a lonely princess realising that love has always been right by her.
You would have to be guessing a heck of a lot to get the same interpretation as you, and that is why I will simply ignore your interpretaion of the flash and review it for what it is.

-Story was all right, nothing I have not seen before. A bit cheezy too.
-Art was all right, not really a fan of the anime style you went for, can be really cool if done correctly though. It just looked a bit sloppy to me.
-Voice acting was ok, the same voice as all the flashes with narration on this website.

Honestly, it was just mediocre, and your description of it just did not fit.

It was nice and very sweet, but then I realized it was about Jesus. Thanks for trying to trick people into Christianity.

The writing kinda killed the mood... I felt like I was reading a chain letter on some kid's facebook wall. English isn't my first language and I'm usually not very difficult about the structure of a text but there were so many awkward sentences that I couldn't sit through the whole thing

Since the story is the main focus of the animation, I can't really say anything else... I wasn't especially impressed by the drawings (especially not by the tears coming out from both ends of the girl's eyes) and, as you said yourself, the voice acting needs work (sounded like you were trying not to wake someone up while recording the voices)

Other than that, the movie gets the point accross pretty well, and the in-depth interpretation you provided makes sense

Blah blah more gospel jesus crap but that aside the voice acting bothered me (but you're gonna address that anyways, just try not to sound like you're reading a school report) and while the drawings themselves were good there wasn't much actual motion and what little there was seemed a bit sloppy lookin.

So really +1 for illustrations, +1 for effort (everyone deserves at least that) -1 for voicing, -1 for less fluid motions, -1 because yeah I don't like the overall theme.

Not to say it's bad there's just lots of improvement room to get with!
