Valentine's Day 2012 Put your moisture care on something short and sweet!
Author Comments
I made this for Valentine's Day.
A short narrative animation about a princess who recieves a special letter.
Sorry for the awful voiceacting, hopefully I will get better in the future.
------EDIT-----------
Thank you for watching! Thanks for the compliments and critiques! :)
Wow! Thanks Newgrounds for the Daily 3rd place and for the frontpage appearance! :D
(READ THIS!!!!!!)
*This may bother others (I didn't realize about this issue, sorry for those who felt tricked) but this movie is about the person of Jesus Christ (not religion).
If you are bothered by that fact, I am sorry but THIS is what the story IS.*
(SPOILERS!)
I noticed some people didn't understand the story, and to be honest, it may be hard for one to understand.
So here's what the story actually meant (sorry for any grammatical errors):
This story is NOT about love in a romantic way, I'm talking about REAL love. Unconditional love shared between a parent and a child.
The princess symbolize the everyday person, you and me (gender does not really matter)
She is alone and gives letters to her prince.
I represented the six princes as her family, friends, boyfriend, money/fame, drugs and religion but overall I just wanted to convey anything that one seeks for in life.
And obviously, how life goes on, everything that the princess (we) admire rejected us, and left us hurt, in pain.
Pain leaves a scar in us whether it's emotional or physical (as if it almost felt like you were stabbed on the back, or pierced by a sword). Hence I showed that pain in a physical manifestation of the princes stabbing the crap out of the princess.
Here's where I placed the gospel:
"The Prince" is Jesus Christ.
The letters the princess recieves and rejects is Jesus' voice.
Despite that, we still try to find the other prince (which is foolish because a prince, no, "The Prince" is right there behind the door)
It's when the princess, comes to the point of crisis (the lowest point) that she realizes that she had no prince to give letters to anymore (have anyone to seek out for to love/ be loved)
Then she realizes the letters (voice of Christ) in her life.
When she listens, she hears "The Prince" knocking on the door.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." (Revelation 3:20)
The Prince is here, waiting for you, knocking at the door of your heart.
He wants you to open it, but he will wait for you (He's not gonna force you, because you have free will).
Jesus is patient, kind and eternal = Love
Jesus is waiting for you to come join him, so you can have eternal life, a neverending tale, an awesome journey to his kingdom.
He wants to go there with you, together.
In the story, "The Prince", Jesus was the princess' seventh prince (7 is the common number used in the gospel, I based if off from the story of the Samaritan Woman of John 4)

The video doesn't speak to me as religious at all, but I suppose we all view it through our own lens. I'm actually a huge fan of Revolutionary Girl Utena, so I was thinking more of Utena than anything while watching this.
I'm glad you were inspired enough to do this! Utena is a great anime and should be appreciated more.
cool to hear, it's awesome to know that people are still fans of utena! :)
thanks! xD

Very good work of art but if you need to write an essay to explain your point then perhaps you need to rework your architypes to make them more inclusive or specific, whichever is your goal, inclusive being how to deal with externalities from within or the specifics of the spread of the christ principle.
I formed the ideas you wrote about except the Jesus Christ part. I guess its my lack of a christian background that I didn't pick up on the biblical references. Otherwise a thought provoking piece and job well done. (Minus the sound which others have highlighted)
Please excuse this comment if other have already made similar comments, I didn't review all the comments posted.
thanks for the critique and review! :)

Wow,
Now that was quite the emotional story.
Not to mention, it has quite the philosophical meaning at the end.
Although, I must agree that the voice acting was a little off. (-0.5 rating)
But you know what they say; practice makes perfect.
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks! :)

Over all this was a really great flash with good art and quality. however I am kind of angry at you for the flash being religious, but I really cant blame you. this is because some people like to spread the message of their faith to others.(of course there are people who don't follow religion like me or who don't desire to spread it.) my hypothesis on why this is is because (sometimes) when humans find something that comforts them or something they have hope in they want to share it with others.(of course there are people who would force this on others.( I hate those people.)) so overall I think you are trying to help people with this. good for you. (4 stars because it was religious.)
haha, thanks! xD

i added this video to my faves because i liked the video how i saw it. after seeing it, i scrolled down, read your comment about the story and began to think. are you christian? i ask because i dont know anymore what religions my beliefes are. i belief in reincarnation, in carma but i beliefe not that god is almighty or even a human (he/she/it could be a stone or a tree or an animal) and i belief that hell and heaven are on earth (after i have seen constantine, it could be possible).
good and touching movie, keep on the good work.
glad you enjoyed the movie! :)
and yes, i am christian.
