Rock Rush: Classic I

Fresh off the code press from us at Retrocade is Rock Rush, our very own Flash version of the classic Boulder Dash! Dig through bug-infested caves dodging boulders, triggering magic walls, and collecting diamonds until you have enough to open the exit. But it doesn't stop there. Depending on which version of Rock Rush you play there may be even more challenging elements to figure out before those gems come within your grasp...

CLASSIC I: Boulder Dash is undoubtedly one of the most famous 8-bit games of all time. While it's still possible to play the original levels in many ways, either through emulation or by downloading one of its many remakes, this version of Rock Rush was made to keep things simple and just let you enjoy the head-scratching puzzles featured in the original Commodore 64 version of the game that started it all. We hope this brings back some memories!

Oh god i loved Boulder Dash so much and haven't played it for so long... It's not true that you should not play old games that you remember from way back because they won't be as good as remembered and will ruin the memory. If the game is fun (and the experience not based only on fancy graphics) you'll be fine. This is great example. I had so much fun. Awesome job good Sir, thanks for that experience.

Love it, the gameplay feels really authentic to the old 8 bit games (which I adored and I'm so happy to see remade like this) And the music/sound effects work very well.

Add in the ability to touch parts of the screen to move around (so that I can play it on my smartphone) and i'll be very very happy :D

It amazes me how many retro remakes there are, and you keep the feel well. Still, there should be a lot more content - this shouldn't be a 30 minute game. Suggestions: design an intermission level pack (aim for 200?) and an "action" mode where you have to dodge falling boulders (even though it's not classic, it adds something the original couldn't do).

is it supposed to freeze after i reached the open portal?

its got that retro feeling very good
