Can't even play. It's so laggy that it froze on the main menu.
Incredibly laggy. I notice that even in your own walkthrough video you can see a significant amount of lag in the game. The lag gets much worse at certain times with no apparent reason, such as when the rooster comes out and sometimes when you kill a ghost.
Also, some of the puzzles are not fair to the player. Dodging the bricks that ghosts throw from above is as much luck as anything else due to how fast the bricks move, and the same goes for dodging the cannonballs at the right hand side of the second level (again, because the cannonballs move too fast). Lag makes those parts harder because the cannonballs/bricks do not move smoothly. The puzzle with the disappearing platforms and the saw that follows you is seriously a pain since it takes a long time to get to a given point, and then if you die or fall you have to start all over.
This game honestly leaves alot to be desired. It's a great start, one of the biggest complaints i have is the controls feel really clunky, it's hard to really time jumps and such. It has great music and visuals. Fix the controls please, i spent 31 lives just trying to climb the tower with the cannons because i couldn't control the jumps very well.
Another gem of a game! I was a bit perplexed as to how it was the story of Ziggy's chicken (the last game's 'good' ending is not cannon then?) but I ended up liking it. I liked the improved art right from the start. It was like seeing the old indie game with a lower budget flower into something that warranted a bigger investment of time and resources. It's a true sequel in that the player needs to experience the first game to fully understand what's going on.
The gameplay wasn't bad, quite good in fact. While I think the original game was more creative in its abuses of rules, the sequel held up well in its own right. The uses of lateral thinking and interacting with the environment to accomplish tasks were strong themes in the levels, which was a good trait to keep between the games. The simpler platform style gaming without use of the mouse is enjoyable, but I was annoyed with the gauges for each of the chicken's powers. I understand though they were in place to keep the player from abusing them in challenges. Infinite double-jumping can make some challenges too easy.
I managed to complete the story without using the walkthrough, but I failed to get all of the gems. I understood the theory of how to get them, but I didn't have the will to try over and over to get them. I also laughed at the ending- I like to imagine you listened to my review on the last game, which made me smile. Will Ziggy keep mackin' on his more popular rival's territory in the future? I really hope so.
I was very pleased with this. I'm glad clever creators and programmers can keep up the effort on unique ideas and keep original material circulating. My rating of a perfect ten comes with the provision that you will continue to make your intellectually stimulating product. This was great work, and I hope to see more!
Thanks for the review, we have in plans making at least one more game in this universe. It will tell the same story from Ziggy perspective, with puzzles like in the first part. We will also use the reception from this game, to make last part as good as possible.
And we resigned from using mouse to solve puzzles in this serie for good. I think it's a good news.
Hah! I got quite a laugh out of this game! I had a lot of fun playing it and it had an awesome amount of humor to it. The puzzles provide a lot of challenge, but not too bad and the walk-through video helps a lot. Can't wait to see more submissions from you!
