UPDATE: Uuuuh, front page?? Thanks a ton. :] And thanks for all the votes and reviews and advice. I've updated the movie with subtitles to make up for over processed audio garble.
My first newgrounds entry ever, as well as my first animation in years. It was made in part to get myself playing around with Flash again. It was also so I could get some sort of little intro for this story I've been working on, but have no intentions of animating(if it were, the style would be way different. Frame by frame awesomness that I'm not capable of now). Therefore this animations raises faaaar more questions than it answers. I worry that it won't stand too well on it's own because of that, but hey, twas a good exercise and stuff.
My apologies for the Frankenstein-esque mess that is the narration. I compiled all the clips in the most unorganized way ever, so in the end it turned into a hodgepodge of different volumes, voices, effects, and noise that was hard to fix after the fact. Blargle. Welp, lesson learned for next time.
So yep, I'm no animator(nor a voice actor, apparently), but it was fun to do. So will probably try some more stuff in the future...with less vibration inducing textures...and better audio.

Wow...........................
Now that was quite the dark story.
The only downside is that the truth was never revealed in the end.

Excellent
Your tone and pace were excellent, i can see why this was front-paged. Though you stated that the art style was not what you intend for a final product, i think it really works quite well. Surprisingly, the sound quality (or lack thereof) actually added to the ambiance, making me feel like i was watching an old black and white movie.
Kudos to you, and i really hope this won't be your last piece of work. Looking forward to this series!

Great job!
This is very well done, especially since it's your first submission.
I love the dark feeling and overall grey mood of it all, being placed in the Victorian era only makes this better.
Sorry if your voice didn't come out as you expected, but it's a good narration nonetheless.

Different than what I expected
Although the narration didn't sound at its best, Seeing as to how this ended up being a creepy flash, it fit in great and amplified the chilling effect of it. And I really liked the animation; to me, it seemed to fit the theme perfectly. The way the words are spoken is also great, and add the right emotion to the flash. Overall, I'd say that this would be great if finished rather than being left as an intro, as you did a very good job with it, despite not having done flash in a long time.
5/5
PS: You say you are no animator, but I care to disagree
