I loved it!
With smart resource management I was able to plow my way though. I didn't run into any graphical glitches or lag, and I'm running it on a 2 year old laptop. Not a bad game. My only complaint is that since EVERYTHING is blue, it was sometimes hard to notice my targeting square. All in all, very enjoyable.
Few things this game needed
Was a good attempt but it was missing quite a few features
Like the perk/stats were boring as hell
Guns were all the same just slightly different speed or damage
Its way to easy and repetitive, all the mobs behave the same way
and needs a better health mechanic, slowly losing hp and then regenerating slowly as well is boring Health drops or ways to heal your self could make it fair that the mobs do more damage to you and help with the difficulty problem
Flawed as all hell.
As far as games of this kind go, it's been done better elsewhere. Take a look at "Dude and Zombies" for example. More or less the same concept, but done infinitely better.
The game lagged a fair bit and the method used to clearout the screen was a major annoyance. It's ridiculous that the player gets punished for killing enemies, when the money that should be a reward for killing the enemy is sucked away, as if to say "ha ha, fuck you" to the person playing the game. As someone else said, why not just have the debris fade away?
The other major issue is that you have to rely on an unbelievably slow healing process. Why is there no way of healing available to purchase in the store? Why not include health bonuses if somehow, allowing people to purchase their health back is an offensive concept to you for some reason? Shouldn't that sort of thing be standard?
Good, but the graphical glitch was annoying.
I experienced the same graphical glitch that RickyTheFish complained about. It looked to me like the game's shop and level-up perk menues were being overlaid in a small gray form on the middle of the screen - the gray boxes seem to correspond to the two menues' items and description bar.
Other than that, it was a fun, if repetitive, time-waster. It was annoying that there was no 'endless' level-up feature to keep spending my points on after all the stuff I could buy was bought. Also annoying that there was nothing to buy after I had the two lasers for my arms. I wish I could've upgraded the other guy's guns.
Another annoying thing is that my backup guys didn't shoot at the King, and their basic guns (and Hamilton's not-quite-basic guns) didn't really do enough damage to keep the other ground-pounders off me, necessitating that I take my attention away from the task of requisite robo-regicide to clear out the riff-raff. This left periods of time in which my fire was off the King, and periods of time in which my backup wasn't doing anything remotely constructive, both of which were annoying.
Still, it was diverting.
There's something missing ...
This is quite a good game, although i didn't go far enough to get laggy. It's a cool time-waster, anyway.
But i miss something that tells me to go further, if you want to stay on the first board for ever, you can, nothing stops the alien waves to come. Maybe it's made on purpose, but i think forcing people to continue the story might be better (you could stop sending aliens as soon as the mushroom is down, or as soon as Marty is healed, etc ...)
