i'm the white dragon now.

thanks for all the liking of the concept of this flash.

the woman involved is no longer who she once was.

Kind of reminds me of a video from a while back called "Draw With Me" same concept and it's a lot longer and prettier. I'm guessing you didn't copy it so 5 stars for coming up with the same idea in a new format? Although that quote at the end is really profound and I like it. It's a very nice touch to everything. It's really nice to see the message actually there rather than have us kind of guess at it.
All in all I thought it was very beautiful, although I just have one question. Did your wife like it?

horsenwelles responds:

she adored it! everyone seems to ask that.

also, no. draw with me is something i saw while i was animating this. the concept is not copied either since the dragon perishes whilst on the other side

Touching

This is a short and sweet piece, and it really gets the point across.
The only thing I would have done differently is the fire.
The edges just looked too soft, you know?
Still, all around great piece, and I would love to see more like this.

Also I agree with FreeWillyzx.
It's simply because of exposure to the image of those Pokémon.
For example, if everyone's front lawn is green except for one of your neighbors, and if you've played Minecraft, your first thought will be "biomes".

wow

that was the sweetest thing I have ever seen....
using the idea of contrast and turning that into a love story even how the dragon gave up her life in fire to be with the one she loved, its so symbolic in so many ways your amazing! This is beauty and passion in a perfect blend.

besides the gender confusion, thank you for a wonderful review!

Bravo

Insightful, clever use of mythology to portray realism. The feeling was absolutely spot on. Had that last scene lasted longer, I might have cried.

Animation was smooth and for the style, reminiscent of Chinese shadow puppetry, very good quality art.

Keep up the great work.

Also, in response to some of your other reviews, I really don't see where gender plays a part in this. Either side can play either role in my view. Am I wrong here? I can see by the eyes and the expressions which was meant to be which, but does it honestly make a difference? Aside from the message to your bride, of course. All the happiness in the world to the two of you!

horsenwelles responds:

thats true, but the loveletter was more pointing towards my struggle personified as the black dragon, and thus, male.

although you really don't have to discern. its just a little something ^^
