---THE MOVIE DOES LOAD IT JUST DOESNT SHOW THE LOADING BAR PLEASE WAIT A MINUTE.---

If the movie lags try to lower the quality.

Well I finally decided to submit it here on Newgrounds, my graduating project for my animation class which I made one year ago. I made the music myself you can download it in the audio portal, all instruments where played each one at a time.
It was my first time mixing it all together and is not quite at the level which I wanted it to be.
I also did a lot of rotoscoping in this movie filming myself and drawing over it as an expirimental test. The song was inspired by various things such as the music of Cab Calloway and Tom Waits.
Please PM me if you find something wrong with the flash

Download the song for free here: http://www.newgrounds.com /audio/listen/464262

LYRICS:

Small conversations, obscene
relations just an unwashed fake romance.
Horny sound from a growlin' hound and a perverted old street cat.

Dirty floors, suite coats black ties
Come to take their chance,
He got a big bag of money, just for his dirty honey,
For his sore street romance.

Daddy's little girl, in a pretty red dress,
And a pink pistol in her hand .
Her tears are black and her hair is a mess,
she could not understand.

She blows the sax like no other,
She learned to play, from her mother.
Easy lover, under the cover
and a bedtime story from a prostitute,

Who was never taught the explanation, never had the education
to feel another vibration of love.

He got a big bag of money, just for is dirty honey,
For his sore street romance.

Interesting

I have a sudden urge to watch the Maltese Falcon and Sin City now. I also feel the need to buy a fedora and smoke a cigar in a depressive bar.

Way to invoke emotion through animation and song!

Excellent

This is one of the best AMVs that I've seen in recent times.

Every aspect of the art style of the video complements the genre of music that is being played throughout the video. It's altogether fitting, and makes sense. The animation was for the most part perfect, and matched the phases of the song well. I did find a couple of issues here, though. For one, the experimental rotoscoped animations needed a bit of work; they were a bit choppy and had awkward movement patterns at some occasions. Those in particular needed some smoothing, and maybe some cleaning up at the borders, but were for the most part good. The other issue is that the very slow pans look choppy because you can see every pixel transition. so try not to move the images themselves too much, and just pan the camera around the image.

The music was actually very well-done, and aside from the quality of the drumset used (which isn't half-bad), it was actually mixed well. The vocals especially fit the song because of the quality of the recording but were a bit too loud in my opinion.

I loved this video. It looks very professional, and could be something you see on media if the small details were fixed up.

Thanks for reviewing, rotoscoping is a bitch to do because it takes days or even weeks. If you watch carefully you will notice that the rotoscoping at the beginning of the flash is less good then at the end because of the progress I made during the making of this. This was very expirimental for me and a big step away from my usual style. Thanks for reviewing :)

Now thats classy

This is really something. Its reminiscent of such a classic style of music, but thats what makes it unique. The animation was nice too, had a dark feel to it, which goes well with the music.

Real smooth stuff

It's like you said; Cab Calloway and Tom Waits, but also Damon Albarn, and a Frank Miller art-style.
At first I thought you had just added animation to an already existing song; I was really surprised to see you made this all yourself.
It has an incredibly authentic and professional feel to it.
Feel really proud of yourself for both these works.

Basset-Hound responds:

Thanks, you're not the first to mention Damon Albarn with this song. I never intended it one bit but I don't mind the comparinson because I love his work and voice.

Thanks for the review

The dark dirty streets of the 1930's revisted

The use of shadows and light along with the music really makes the places shown much seedier and twisted. Hard to believe the Beatles started of in a similar club.

haha if anything it resembles the Whiskey-a-gogo where The Doors started out a bit more then the Cavern. It is funny though that you mention The Beatles since they also had a very big influence on my music. Thanks for the review
