"Just hold down the spacebar!"
date: June 24, 2009
All you silly fools complaining about how it's SOOOO HARD haven't apparently noticed that it increments while the spacebar is being pressed, not in proportion to the number of times it is pressed, so if you tap it rapidly at a 1/3 duty cycle it will go up a third as fast as if you just hold the friggin thing down! You're wasting your effort by trying to press it and release it as many times in a second as you can, just hold it down.
This reminds me of a text doom game I found a while back, in the style of those old adventure games.
It's a pity... since this is getting near a decade old, I guess we can all give up any hope of further DOOMstalments.... I like how you at least demonstrated your comprehension of the fact that Phobos and Diemos are MOONS of Mars. (I'm referring to the introduction video now, not this one.) "Alternate doom" made by some other guy had them land on Mars. The picture of his family he looks at is kind of funny, though. Seemed kind of out of place. I think he's not supposed to have a family based on the subtle clues in the original game - he only has a pet rabbit and is a loner aside from that. I thought the scene when they were all in the spaceship was kind of funny, where they're holding the low-resolution weapons from the game. But you should have made one or two of the guys black, instead of making them all identical.
Also ignore (assuming you ever read this) all those schmucks who say things like "this is too short". I can full well appreciate the amount of effort and programming that went into this, for one guy to do.
