My second ever flash.
Made in one night, With a mouse and no help.
Hopefully should be a little better received than my other junk, this one I tried a little.
Hope you all enjoy and please rate it if you think it's not too bad.

i love it...
this flash may be very well the best one ive seen, i love how it has an old skool feel to it like black and white but colors showing only on what really truly matters in the story. what gave u in the inspiration, will there be any more like this and could you see urself doing this in film
To be 100% truly honest, I didn't really have any inspiration, I just knew I wanted to make something sad and dark, so I picked a song and just started animating!
I'm Really glad you liked it, this being so well received so far, I think I'm going to do a re-do at some point and really step it up, once I get a Graphics tablet I'll do one to the whole song (1:30 ish).
Than kyou so much for the excellent review!
So sad :(
you're in my same situation my friend...
You know, I make art... And I'm not known for a lot of people... And each time someone reviews something, you thankfully appreciate it even it's bad or not...
But talking about the flash video, it was very nice... the sadness and loneless showed on a simple but very significative flash video makes a mix that no one should loose to watch... It deserves a 10!!
Thank you man, I really appreciate your review!
At this point I am just thanking everyone because I'm glad that people take the time to view and then review it. It meant a lot to me.
i liked it
it made sense the only thing that had color in the video was the water. because the video was dark but kinda funny
wow. that's pretty good. dude.
I'm impressed by this. I've got some constructive criticism for it, sure, but you've got all the marks of someone who's gonna be damn good animator some day!
I think the outline for the water looks odd, the contrast between the dark water and the light edges is too extreme, might wanna tone it down a bit. The dust/fade away at the end is a little too quick but i'd be kinda an ass to ask you to change it, lol.
Looks like you might want to practice something like 'gesture drawing' if you have trouble animating/drawing people, i don't know if you do or not, but there's a great tool at http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/fig uredrawing.php that allows you to get a LOT of practice easily. Gesture drawing will teach you 'weight', along with where muscles go, and what normal proportions are.
*Life drawing is the same as gesture drawing i think, both are very important in good animation (just knowing where things are supposed to be basically).
As for animation itself, a great resource full of examples of timing, spacing, walk cycles and all kinds of neat stuff is 'Richard Williams: The Animator Survival Kit". If you don't have any money to buy the book, you can find it the googles as a .PDF book with a quick search. I hear pretty much every good animator has a copy for reference handy, so it might be worth a look.
Looking forward to seeing more of you cool stuff dude, keep it up!
WOW. Just WOW. First of all, THANK YOU FOR responding, I REALLY REALLY appreciate it!
Okay, All Excellent advice! I didn't like the contrast in the water either, as I dont have a mouse and I did this frame by frame, it took me a really long time to do the water as i did it and some of it I tried to do with the pen toll which wrecked it a bit too.
I plan on getting the animators guide, but I plan on getting a graphics tablet first.
Also, I wasn't happy with the dust speed at all, it was going way fast before I realized, and as a newb, I haven't learned the concept of real time on the flash timeline yet. I really tried to slow it down, and actually went over nearly all of the initial page flying phase once to slow it down too.
Again, Thank you so much for the advice and the review, look forward to a re- done full length good version once I get a graphics tablet.
That inspires me!
Wow! Thats really awesome!
WOW OMG! thank you! it means so much to me man. you are my first ever video reponder! thankyou. What an amazing score too! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
