**IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT GAME CONTROLS**
There is a known Internet Explorer browser bug which makes some keys stick when pressed. We promise the problem is not in our game itself, but it's something you can fix if you search for "Internet Explorer Flash Sticky Keys" OR simply use another browser like Firefox. Again, this is not a problem with the code in our game, so if you're experiencing this problem, try one of the aforementioned solutions. Thanks!

Abobo's Big Adventure is a project that we have been working on for YEARS as a true labor of lovewith one goal in mind: To create the ultimate tribute to the NES! This gargantuan 8-bit parody game is made for the fans by the fans, and now you finally have the chance to control the angriest character in the known universe - Abobo!
The story is simple - Abobo's son (Aboboy) has been kidnapped and now it's up to you to help Abobo fight his way through some of the greatest NES games of all time in order to rescue him. This isn't your average 8-bit parody game either... not only is each level a completely different game in which Abobo takes on the characteristics of the main protagonist, but enemies from a wide variety of *other* games appear on each level too! Imagine you could put every NES game ever made into a blender and that's basically what you're dealing with here in the form of a huge Flash game.
We've added in a ton of custom artwork, cutscenes, new rage moves on each level, huge boss battles, secrets, and a whopping 100 medals for you to unlock! In addition to that, we've created what we consider to be the most satisfying ending of any game you'll ever see. Sure, on classic NES games they often rewarded you with a simple "Congratulations! Game Over." after you spent hours working your way towards the end. That's not the case here - we've worked up one big ending that you'll remember for the rest of your life! Plus, when you beat the game, you'll unlock even more goodies to play with!
You'll also be happy to learn that we've created a convenient Level Select screen which automatically unlocks levels as you beat them. You don't have to beat the game in one sitting... you can always come back and use the Level Select to pick up right where you left off. You can also use it to replay any level if you need to try to unlock additional medals that you missed out on during your first play-through.
Last but not least, if you enjoy this massive game project of ours, please consider making a donation to our indie cause. We've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this game (mainly because Abobo kept punching us throughout its development), so your donations would be greatly appreciated and will go towards our creating future games and/or paying our hospital bills from Abobo's constant beatings. PLUS - as a token of our appreciation, anybody who makes a donation will also receive a free copy of our 100% original new mini-game, Aboboy's Small Adventure!
In closing, we'd like to thank all of our friends, families, and Newgrounds for their unwavering support over the years as we've continued to work on this huge project. It really meant the world and helped us make Abobo's Big Adventure something truly special. It's hard to imagine that this project started out all the way back in 2002... Abobo sure has come a long way with his angry fists. Thanks for playing our game and making this 8-bit dream come true.

Hard
Wah wah this game is so hard I'm gonna load my review with swear words, oh wait, you mean that if I can't beat a game instantly with no practice, that doesn't necessarily make it a bad game? Oh well in that case this game is awesome; chiptune music, variable gameplay and pixel graphics give this a 10/10 for sure!!

1000/5 For putting all the NES games into one!!
First of all, with all the violence in this game, HOW THE FUCK DID THIS GAME RECEIVE A "T" rating~?! You know, I'm starting to get the feeling that violence is permissible on so many levels that Ratings no longer hold any meaning anymore whatsoever other than indicators of sexual content. I mean seriously, if you can put that much graphic violence into a game and STILL get a rating that appropriate for teenagers to play then I'm speechless~
Other than that - great game!! I know I'll never be able to put a game together like this probably in my entire life... or well if I do~ I probably would do something else inspiring just like your work
Thank you for showing us what originality was back then that we so long have forgotten in modern video-gaming today!!

This is truly a masterpiece
***THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS***
This game was truly amazing, the entire way through. From beginning to end. At this time, I've gotten most of the medals and finished the game, so I'm writing this review now. Gonna do this level by level.
Double Dragon: Personally, I always sucked at this game, somehow, and I wasn't able to do the rage attack here. However, it was greatly done, and fit Abobo the best. Punch enemies, beat up harmless things, no mercy.
Super Mario: At this point, I realized that you seemed to be focusing on lesser appreciated (or, better described as "hated") levels in popular NES games. The weird Yoshi-tongue seemed a little out-of-place here, and the electric weed near the end of the level gave me no end of grief. The mermaid was a nice surprise, though!
Urban Champion: Entirely a joke level, and well-done at that. I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to say it. If you haven't done this, let the urban champ punch you. It's hilarious.
Zelda: This was when I realized that rage attacks don't help much on boss fights. Stays completely true to the original Zelda experience, minus the endless confusion. As with all the levels, the boss here was a complete surprise to me, and was a very fun experience.
Balloon Fight: This was the only level I didn't like. It really drags on, but it had enough variation in it so that it didn't bore me. I have to wonder what the real point of the rage attack was here, other than to just clear obstacles. Wait...that was the point wasn't it? I kept trying to hit the boss with it. :P
Pro Wrestling: I was kind of surprised you included this one. It was a nice fight, and wasn't too short or too long. I hadn't played the original game so it took a minute for me to get the controls, but once I did...well, that place went down.
Mega Man: You brought over my least favorite level from the entire Megaman series, and for that...I love you slightly less. And, just like the level this was based off of, I died. Many times. The boss also killed me, but it was still a fun fight.
Contra: After seeing Kirby and the Konami code featured here, I lost all the hate that I had accumulated on the previous level. The entire level was great, though the boss was the least enjoyable to fight, honestly.
Punch Out: Epic, with an epic finale. At first he just completely destroyed me, but once I got into the swing of things, he became really easy to beat. Took me only about 3 tries to get the "I'M THE GREATEST" medal. And I feel really freaking awesome for having done so.
I could list the pros and cons, but it would actually just be a really long list of pros, stretching this review out even longer. This game is amazing, it's free, and everyone should play it. All of them. This needs at least a billion views, and I am being literal about that number.
6 OUT OF 5
Voting...5? It only goes up to 5? FFFF-fine. >_>
