The entirety of this was made over the course of the last seven days. I'm actually really surprised at how efficient I was here, since I managed to get around 25 seconds done each day.
Even though the actual animation is not pristine or anything and the frame-by-frame is sort of choppy and shaky, I'm proud of how this turned out, mainly due to the atmosphere of it and the story. I think this time it actually has some meaning behind it. Also, this time I actually have some REAL INSTRUMENTS in the music. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? OMG. Except I mixed them in with synthesized versions of themselves so it's occasionally hard to tell. Oh well.
Edit: Wow, I'm genuinely amazed by the quality of these reviews! There's been a lot of thought put into each and every one of them. Thanks so much, everyone!

WOW!
This, simply put, was amazing.
Everyone tries to mask their feeling, and try to put on a happy face, at least once in their lives. The raw emotion and creativity that emanate from this animation rival that of Tarboy's.
Well done, I will be following you from now on.

This is more awesome
This should be in front page. Behind the animation isn't smooth in some parts, I think it give a message to the audience, and in my opinion a good animation is not having the maximun detail and tecnology, its the imagination and talent of the artist to give the message. Newgrounds should learn from artist like this.
Yeah, I didn't make this because I felt like practising my actual animation skills, which is what I do for a lot of my others; rather, it was because I had a story and a message that I wanted to tell. I still probably could have put more effort into the animation anyway, but oh well...

Pieced together in more ways than one
This ranks up there with my personal best. The whole thing was like a puzzle., a puzzle that not only involved the story line, but the concept, music, tone, and mood. The music really fit the the overall mood presented through the use of symbolism and making the entire submission black and white (save the mask details).
Though, like you said, animation isn't the best, every other detail used here made up for that entirely. You truly spoke to the hearts and souls of the viewers with this submission.

Very dark and interesting
I really like how you made this flash. A very creative world in which you can actually relate to reality. We feel as if we are always fighting to be the same as everyone else. The dark tone that was given in the video really captures the depression and sadness that the character goes through. A lot of simple yet very effective symbolism pieces are included and it just makes it so much greater.
Sorry if I am over thinking it but that just because I can really connect with the main character in the story. The idea of conforming to society seemed impossible to me while at the same time I did not even want to conform in the first place. People can really get a connection from all the characters in the flash and the masks (in my opinion) create a way for the viewer to relate the characters to other people that they know whether they were the main character trying to fit in or if they were the others who just wanted him to conform or degrade because they felt superior.
I like this flash and would really like to see you create more like this (in the sense that it leaves a moral or a message to the viewer).
So two high fives dude. :D
