The entirety of this was made over the course of the last seven days. I'm actually really surprised at how efficient I was here, since I managed to get around 25 seconds done each day.

Even though the actual animation is not pristine or anything and the frame-by-frame is sort of choppy and shaky, I'm proud of how this turned out, mainly due to the atmosphere of it and the story. I think this time it actually has some meaning behind it. Also, this time I actually have some REAL INSTRUMENTS in the music. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? OMG. Except I mixed them in with synthesized versions of themselves so it's occasionally hard to tell. Oh well.

Edit: Wow, I'm genuinely amazed by the quality of these reviews! There's been a lot of thought put into each and every one of them. Thanks so much, everyone!

hmm thought provoking

this is a beautiful description of everyday life for most people. it is a message that people have told many times before but it is a reminder we all need from time to time. feralprowler asked why it got front page. it got front page because it was art told by personal emphasis and clearly treated with love. who cares if its not new and flashy... people must share their views and though some may see the same view as simply what someone else has seen before we must remember that nobody else has seen it through this persons eyes or have seen it in the same way that this person has. all that aside i highly appreciate being able to see this and so have most others who have also seen it... keep pressing on and good luck in future endeavors.

Yep, regardless of how this flash fares on Newgrounds, I think I made it more for myself than for anyone else.
Thanks!

Recycled message, with a very unique edge!

Just because the message is old, doesn't mean the flash is too. That's what I enjoy about flashes with the same meaning, because although they may say the same message, each story is told differently and uniquely. Any reason for trolling this movie is completely ridiculous. If you try to look into your art and creativity side, you can understand this as well. It's just like saying something about a holocaust movie or something. Sure, there are a lot of them, but they all tell different stories in the same time and genre. And these stories are meaningful to us, that's what trolls like FeralProwler fail to understand. But not to worry, he is obviously artistically challenged. :)

Awesome!

I think this is a very excellent way of convening your message in an original way. So what your frames where choppy and your tweens were tweeny. This is a solo project and a flash animation. If you had a production team behind you this would be amazing.
And as for FeralProwler, the most original thing he does was troll someone who is by far better than him. Worthless people project their worthlessness on others. Maybe if he paid attention to your message he'd take off his frowny face mask and enjoy your artwork for what it is. I for one did. :D Keep up the good messages and great work.

we have all seen it before, frontpage why?!?

this hardly belongs on the front page of anything...its dull and a dime a dozen, its a bland overwrought visual trope thats been beaten to death, its a flash weve all seen half a million times, its like those flashes that star 2 cute things, cute thing b is murdered and cute thing b goes mad and avenges it and we all say "d'awwwww its so meanigfull and deep"
we need to stop and say no...this is nothing new and original
rating something like this well enough to front page it takes valuable space away that could be given to the creative

if you wanna make a social commentary, try and make one that got a little more behind it than a cliche

Pahgawk responds:

Well, I think there is a certain amount of truth behind every cliché. I know that when I was making this movie, I was by no means trying to show how "cute" anything was. I was making it because I wanted to make something that had some meaning to ME. I think you see movies similar to this is because their respective authors also believed that what they were making had meaning. Although this may sound cheesy, I believe that the majority of meaning for my movie came from my own personal catharsis and "road to discovery" as I was making it rather than what other people think of it. I'm sorry you weren't able to empathize with this. That's perfectly understandable. I can't offer up a piece of myself and expect everyone to be able to adopt it as their own. However, I would also hope that people realize that I made this for more than just to use a cliché.
