Exceptional Tower Defense

Well, I have to hand it to you: this is an exceptionally good tower defense game! I have never given out a 10 before, but I really think that this deserves it. There are many TD games out there that, and let's be honest here, are half-hearted tripe, but it is plain to see that this one has been well planned and executed.

The maps are very well drawn and animated, and are full of colour, there is a real attention to detail here. The sprites are cute and detailed too, which adds to the atmosphere. In fact the artwork, in it's comic style, throughout the game is very appealing. So it looks good - but it doesn't end there (thank goodness!):

There is a really nice balance to the gameplay. The feature of the spawning barracks tower, along with the availability of only fixed strategic positions for your towers means you have to think carefully about placement and upgrade/build strategy. The author has even had the imagination to make the upgrade paths a bit more varied that just your usual linear 'more range, more damage' mantra that we have seen so many times before. Each upgrade looks great on screen too, again a tribute to the excellent art direction.

Other features include the ability to purchase tower and spell upgrades between levels with earned stars and achievements (I love achievements!).

I love it.
