Goku would probably miss Krilin more than anyone due to them being best friends since they were 12 training with master Roshi.

If you like DBZ you're probably going to like this
My suggested alternate ending: Piccolo is still desperately trying to distract Frieza on the seventh episode so that Goku can finish charging his Spirit Bomb. Another suggestion: Goku is having a telepathic argument with an animal in nature who "doesn't give a darn" about helping Goku and won't give his little bit of spirit energy, and it's really irritating Goku. Hehehe. This video's good. A little late though, seeing as how this episode was aired a while ago.
