New question:
Q: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT MELEE ATTACKS (press 'a' to attack) INSTEAD OF PROJECTILES (mouse to aim and fire)?
a) keyboard + mouse all the way! keep the projectiles!
b) as long as it has upgrades and a story, i'm happy
c) hm, i'm not sure, and it doesn't seem like a terrible idea.. try it!
d) i like swords and melee weapons! love it. do it.

Also, I'm considering putting together a series of video tutorials to show exactly how I made this game (from scratch, start to finish), as well as providing source code and source "artwork." Some preliminary tutorial videos are at www.bigtac.com under the tutorials tab.
