Good Ideas, Bad Interaction and Ending.
Atmosphere: 10/10. The atmosphere had a promising beginning that calmly evolved into a much more potentially dark reality. The scrolling text and occasional grey fade-ins in addition to the music made the simple "Do this, Then this" motive almost evil, regardless of the player's intentions.
Mechanics: 8/10. The in-game mechanics were fine; however, alternative keyboard layouts are always a concern, and it would be great if one did not have to restart the game by accidentally hitting the "New Game" button (or at least accompany it with a Yes/No prompt).
Entertainment: 6/10. While it is clear that much effort was put into developing the theme of the game, a chance for a great climactic chain of events was missed entirely. The laboratory levels built up in difficulty as the world was becoming more aware of and hostile to the organization for which the robot worked, and as the last level-- by far the most strenuous-- was completed, I contemplated the surely-arriving conflict of how to interact with the impending mob: whether to help, fight, or run. Unfortunately, no such conflict happened. The robot was programmed very well, and, accordingly, just sat down and died, while I was wondering why I had just gone through this entire trial. (There's the possibility of some life-paralleling metaphors, but those make the ending even less fun, thinking that something like this would happen IRL.)
I have done the math by hand to check my calculator (to make sure it is currently not attempting to cause an insurrection) and both say 24 / 3 = 8.
Thank you for the detailed review.
