It does make sense!
The guy was took an overdose of something, but not enough to kill him, and now he is in a halucinated quest of self search to find a reason to keep living.
And I agree, need more rainbowns.

the acceleration is large, it makes no sense, so rushing is the key,
if you try too hard to reverse your momentum and stabilize yourself, you will find yourself die like an idiot
