A call to all our fans! Our latest game has been announced!

Our newest game is called Rogue Legacy, a procedurally-generated Castlevania with an in-depth heritage system. super proud of it, but right now we need your help to get it on Steam.

If enjoyed the games made in the past, it would mean the world to us if you could visit the page below, and give us a vote on Greenlight.

Your galaxy has been invaded by melodic celestial bodies, and you've been tasked to save it. Bullet Audyssey is a rhythm-based shoot 'em up where you must "Survive the Beat." Absorb enemy bullets and fire it back at them, slow down time, upgrade your ship and level up.

We wanted to try something new using music as a template for the game mechanics. Many thanks to the incredible musicians on NG, where we got more than 85% of our music.

We hope you guys enjoy it!

Quick Controls Explanation:
- WASD, arrow keys, or numpad to move.
- Z, comma (for WASD) or SPACEBAR to shoot.
- X, period (for WASD) or SHIFT to slow time down.

Many apologies for the long loading time (it's a music game after all). Make sure to try out the tutorial while you wait!

Amazing,...but

The gameplay is great. I've seen a few reviews stating the controls are a little loose, a little, but I'm sure most deaths are caused by an inability to keep track of about ninety bullets at once. As alluded to in the previous sentence, this game is hard. THIS GAME IS REALLY HARD. but enjoyable thanks to the music. Nice touch combining when the bullets fire to the beat. I did find the rating system a little arbitrary though. (I couldn't beat a two star until i had four more upgrades, but breezed though a three star without a scratch.) Overall the game is fun, pretty hard, but if you focus and keep trying you can finish the game.

Awesome! Reinforcements!

Except you made my hitbox the size of the FREAKING MOON!

All kidding and final boss aside, I really enjoyed this game. I would have liked a larger variety of songs, but I understand that each song would add many hours to the game development. The game was long enough to have a nice sence of progression, yet short enough that the music didn't start to annoy me. I did find that As Hard As It Gets did tend to skip a bit when the lasers fired, which made it a little harder than it had to be.

Upgrades and everything had a real impact on your abilites. After beating the game, i went back to the first boss and crushed him with only half a charge. I must admit, there was a certain level of joy when, after getting the lv 3 Overcharge skill, seeing 1/2 the enemies HP vanish in one shot.

At first it bothered me how limiting firing actually was, but as I got used to it, it made a lot more sence. I spent as much time gathering power as i did waiting for that 1 moment when I had a nice, clear shot. It made it genuinly exciting.

Now, my big kicker is here is the final boss. Beyond the reinforcement thing which I mentioned right off the bat, it felt like a total cop-out. After going through all those levels, I get that as a final boss? And it didn't even have a unique song to go with it. It was just really anticlimatic. It was just a really dissapointing final boss.

The game as a whole was well above average, and I had a lot of fun. There are a lot of tense moments and chaotic bullet pattern. Just that final boss and the lack of musical variety are downers.

CellarDoorGames responds:

Hey-o Hozama,

Your hit box is 1 pixel large. There's a small white dot in the middle of your ships which you can use to tell your size.

Thanks for all the feedback, and sorry you didn't like the final boss. We thought it was pretty cool.

its very awsome but...

but durring the levels after the first four, the controls get finiky. they carry you too far as well as send you places you don twant to go. in the 5th level i couldnt win because the controls tossed me aroud. my ship would accualy stop as well as move me into the line of fire. in the 6th level it tossed me forward into a lazer and killed me. it is an awsome game and a good idea but the controles kill it a little bit.

Fantastic but challenging

Really, Vela 5 is absurdly hard and it is only 1.5 stars. The rest of this game must be impossible. That being said, the music is great and the game mechanics are great and just about everything else is great. Maybe speeding up the horizontal movement might help.
