A Second Helping of the Same Shit
Feed Us 2 is the second game in this series where a player can control a piranha and devour hapless swimmers, scuba divers, and schools of fish to satisfy its lust for blood, which you can use to upgrade five different attributes, along with adding your own school of bloodthirsty piranhas. As much as I want to like this game, it still retains the same bugs that plagued the original, and the control is no more refined, either. The collision detection is just plain bad, because every time you hit the island, you bounce off of it, causing unnecessary delay in finishing levels, especially when they're timed. Furthermore, as JapeSkydrake pointed out, you can literally get stuck IN an island if you try to attack a boat as it goes through one (sometimes the game corrects it, other times it just freezes). The control with the mouse is just as shoddy as ever, because you have to lead the piranha with the cursor and the movement is rough and inconsistent, and this makes ramming boats irritating in the earlier levels. And even at ramming speed, missing a boat sends you flying into the air and the lack of gravity keeps you suspended to a ridiculous degree. This sequel really could have used a keyboard-cum-mouse control scheme as it would have made eating your victims easier and the game a lot more fun.
Buggy as Hell
the concept is good. The gameplay is original, but it bugs out like mad. I keep getting stuck in the islands (IN the islands, not ON) can't tell if the crocidile is gonna kill me or not. At one point i was eating a dude and then my little spawns decide to rocket off into space. But the ultimate deal breaker would be the crocidle kill I mentioned before: Where I bounced off an island when i wasn't even facing in that direction and landed right in his mouth apparently.
I think the first was a bit better
Okay, I'm glad the eyebrow ring is gone from the piranha, but you replaced glitches with glitches and left several things alone when they needed fixing.
Bouncy terrain was annoying, as it cost you precious time for any small mistake. People could swim through land, which is unusual (you'd think they would stay there, to be safe, but they come out the other side). The speed burst is a good idea, but it just doesn't work: flinging your piranha into a bounce house is not a good idea. The warp points were unexplained and too small to bother using, plus they didn't take you very far. And for some reason it was very difficult to eat the small fish. Sometimes I could eat 3 in one pass, at others I was stuck flailing and dashing back and forth over them, watching as those last two fish I needed swam around, mocking me as the timer ran out for the third time. The alligators were a good source of blood, but I had one swim through an island and eat my 35 pound piranha with no warning, putting me back at a measly 5 pound small fry. At that, I just quit, seeing none of the advice from the last game had been taken into account.
And just so you know: an adult human has roughly 6 liters of blood in his/her system. It was weird to strip a man to a skeleton and only get 1 liter in reward, while giving a gator a few flesh wounds yielded more.
All in all, better in some respects, worse in others, still not what it could be.
Eh Has potential but Poorly Executed
Its got a good idea but the fact that it feels so unfinished and shouldnt have even been published just makes you cringe. The idea can be solid but the mechanics behind it are not finished.
I love the concept, but the game is soooo buggy.
