It wan't...
...scary, really, but after completing it I felt... empty, and a little bit colder than before. This is what true horror is made of; it's not messy, mindless slaughter, it's a dark, harrowing, metaphorical, and philosophical journey through what is as much an idea as a story.
And for those of you who complain the gun imbalances the game, I'm pretty sure it's intentional. At the beginning, the character was only able to defend himself and kill as a result of that, but as he kills more, it starts to make him feel more powerful. He starts to lose sight of his objective and his true nature as blood-lust and power overtake him.
At least, that's my take on it :P

Don't Complain
The old school style is excellent, it allows flawless play through without heavy graphics. Nobody should complain about wanting to get through get game quickly because the idea seems to be about thinking and being scared of taking the next step. It's a horror movie from the age of pixels. You can't run though it! You'll die at every turn! Especially your first time playing it through, which I feel that the author is trying to emphasize. Any sudden scare will get you the first time, but when you expect it, it's not really scary anymore. So, replay value isn't very 'wow'.
Damn good game nonetheless. Youngsters wanting to be solely of the modern age would not understand a game like this as THIS is the kind of thing that got many gaming indusstries moving in the first place.

Wow.
That was terrifying to me. I know, I'm kind of a wuss, but still! I had to stop playing halfway through to take a breather. I'm restarting it now lol.

Unfortunately, i beat it w/o signing on. So i'm redoing it right now. Anyways, love the multiple endings and how it was slightly harder getting the good ending :D
