Good job!

Graphics and sounds are awesome. Great quality work. I am actually impressed by the music, it never gets boring - good job on this too.

Your plot is really fun. The way you developed your idea makes it very fun to play for hours. The environment you present here also reminds me of the game boarderlands, in a way. Very well done.

Just one flaw, I believe.

I think that the cotrols are not responsive enough for a game that needs that amount of agility. The difficulties should be presented in challenges, obstacles, etc, and not in the need to memorize the right way to press the buttons in order to jump or evade attacks.

If you find a way to fix this, no doubt this game would deserve a 10/10.

Keep up the great work! You really deserved the front page, this game is amazing! Congratulations!

If you liked the music, check out Hopeku's stuff!

By the way, if you read this, I would really appreciate if you could send me a PM saying what you mean by the controls not being responsive. Is there a delay between a key press and the reaction? Is it due to lag? More info would help

This was one of the greatest games to play through! The boss was too easy though...

Okay game.

Okay first off no matter what I had tried I couldn't kill the worm. That you could only purchase certain types of items at each shop and that you weren't guaranteed to see the shop you wanted or any shop was frustrating. That the shops worked with the space bar meant you could if pushing the spacebar for shooting while moving you could randomly purchase items. The quick moving worm along with the big gaps of lava meant that you keep getting dropped into the lava.

The art direction is great, but the gameplay fails

I can honestly say that the graphics, artwork, and overall style manage to be unique and greatly executed. The game universe itself feels like a 2D hybrid of Borderlands, Gears of War, and Thing Thing Arena, and maybe Rage. The character customization is cool too.

However, I regret to say that the visuals are all this game has going for it.
The average and unispirired run n' gun, keep-moving-or-die gameplay doesn't bring anything new to the table, and the jump feature is sluggish. Combine that with enviornments that require constant jumping, and the end result just feels bad.

IMHO, I think this game could do better with a 'Reloading' mechanic, maybe some intelligent enemies that shoot ranged weapons at you, a cover system, and of course, at lot more storyline so that we know what we are fighting for and why.
Oh, and Multiplayer. That would be nice.

To your credit though, the game works. I didn't find any bugs and the framerate held up. Your 'Discount Mayonaise' just needs some enrichment. After that, everybody should come rushing in to get some, because it has some potential.

Joelasticot responds:

I'm surprised you criticize the game for not bringing anything new, then say it would fare better with generic gameplay features lol. But anyway, thanks for the criticism. We've received a lot of feedback concerning the jumping and it'll definitely be better in our next games.
