Great game. Liking the weird artistic style. You kept the game simple, and that's a good thing. Makes it easy to pick up and play whenever.

Fun but...

On level 16, that one jump where theres acid next to where you have to be, no matter how hard I try, it kills me, because it seems that being that close to acid kills you, but i cant get in to that little hole with it that way.

Haven't been scared playing a game in a long time!

You get that adrenaline kick immediately from this high-octane fast-paced shooter. This is one of those games where the frustration from the challenge becomes actually enjoyable in a sick, addicting way. Artwork, audio, creativity, coding, design, replay value, AI-- everything was superb! (Seriously, high-five to the coder who designed the AI, they were perfect at chasing you!)

However, lag was an issue at times; though I actually preferred high quality and particles to slow the action down (impossibly fast on low quality, no particles). Very often, the lag would make me miss jumps. Speaking of which, the jumping and movement... it's forgivable but it was painful at times due to that magnetic feeling and random lateral velocities (sometimes you jump across far and sometimes barely). This made the lava is WAY too unforgiving. Health, weapons, items, enemies, even the worm... none of them matter in comparison.

Also, I know this was part of the "Fuuu-- I'm getting chased!" feeling you guys wanted but the triggers on the map to send the worm flying at you didn't feel right. No matter how fast I ran a region of a map, the worm would spawn right behind me at a certain point. Not rewarding.

The item curve could've been better. Why the price cap-offs on the last set of items? I used only the saw gun and the last items on the clothing shop.

Tips for sequel/remake:
-more testing levels!
-item-gaining curve
-Lava too unforgiving.

I'm sure you might've heard of it but there's a game called "I Wanna Be The Guy". Beautiful controls. You guys had the double-jump and hold-jump too. However, I never saw the holding of jump ever come much use. Maybe design levels that are are more demanding of those skills.

5/5 Audio
5/5 Artwork/style
4/5 Coding
5/5 Creativity/Appeal

Thanks for the review! To be honest, the AI is very rudimentary but I'm glad to see it did the job haha!
I did hear about I wanna be the guy, but haven't tried it myself. I'll look into it if it can help me design better levels!
