Update: I think a lot of you are too quick to judge this game without finishing it. If you still hate it after you've seen the ending, then feel free to leave a nasty review.

Do you think there is an animal heaven?

Well. That was great.

I did everything straight from the beginning just like the other kid wanted me to. However, in the end I felt a little cheated when I HAD TO "betray" him.
However, I still enjoyed it.

- Creepy atmosphere overall, great.
- 8-bit graphics you could say? They were cool.
- Music was fitting.
- Story was nice, other kid going "insane" and the like. However, I didn't like how I couldn't be the same and stay with him in the end.
- Difficulty was alright, I almost got beaten in the end by final boss. Never lost even once, though.

Going to replay it and try out different outcomes, see what's going to happen. Keep on doing the good work! I shall give this 10/10 because I don't think a rating of 2.64 does this justice.

So creepy ._.

This deserves more than a 2.6...

I like it!

I played this a while back and was recently thinking about this. There is an alternate ending, in the very beginning. I thought the message was pretty clear and this wasn't a game just to "incorporate killing animals". Good work, however I agree that there should be more endings than just the 2.

Given how the game ends, and the segment before the final night, you are given insight as to why the game progresses as it does. You are also given non-sociopathic options the entire way (including the option of altruistically only hitting hard objects to spare the animals, then letting your parents see your hands, etc) to "stop".
Also, many users here have done far more inhumane things on games. This one is just personalized by the point of view and the gripping motivation of self interest: you could stop at any point by simply going to another site, but will YOU?
Those that are offended, actually think about what's offending you here. Finish the game and compare the end to any other action game here where you're trying the save the princess or just get yourself some gold... Are your actions really all that different?

That being said, my problem with the game is that you are somewhat forced to go along with the sociopathic route to progress. Ideally, you'd have multiple paths and multiple endings (rather than the quasi-"game over" non-sociopathic endings).

Either way, the game is successful at "gripping" the player as I mentioned previously. The music helps quite a bit. Also, compare this game to other submissions (such as The Company of Myself) and it might give you some insight into the author's perspective of things. The bizarro nature and point of view are amazing tools to make users not only keep playing... but actually start thinking.
