Wow. This is way different from pretty much every other game out there.

The title of the game is simple and straight to the point: you're going to punch animals. One, two or four buttons are needed depending on the sequences, and there's little variation to the sequences. One annoying thing about boss battles was that I couldn't tell consistentlly when the punches connect.

There are also discussions that don't really affect the game that much, but give a certain flavor to the plot. These two mechanics are extremely minimalistic, but the idea being absurd, everything built around these two mechanics make one heck of an experience.

The graphic style is overall pretty simple. The style changes visibly in this game (traditional pixel art to simple Paint sketches to even childlike doodles), but somehow these changes play together effectively. It's an art style I haven't seen anywhere else, and it really creates a creepy and haunting atmosphere.

And when talking about a haunting atmosphere, the music also is quite outlandish and complements the style of the game. Sounds effects, are your little old school bleeps and scratches. Nothing spectacular, but not anything annoying either.

The game is simple, the graphics are definitely inferior in polish when compared to top games on NG, and the sounds and music are pretty simplistic - yet the way these things were made and put into a whole creates an extremely outlandish and memorable experience in fraction of the time than many other games.

Heck, I'm probably going to remember this game longer than some titles where many years and millions of dollars have been spent.
