**EDIT**
Thanks for Daily Feature :3 Even though I got bombed with low votes later on, it doesn't matter now, I got what I wanted :)
Also, could someone tell me why is there so much hate towards hard games?? And don't you dare say it's because of a bug or glitch or whatever, because that's NOT the reason. I've seen this kind of reaction to many other insanely hard games in the past 6-7 years I've been visiting NG. I guess kids here don't like a challenge when they see one O_o

At last! Here is the sequel to my previous submission, Donkey Kong Arcade Returns! It took me nearly a whole month of hard work to finish this. I fixed alot of bugs from DK Arcade 1 and added different difficulties and other new things. This will probably be my final submission for 2011, and I hope to start 2012 with many more new games to offer the good people of NG.
This is a remake from a hack from the original arcade version, properly titled "Donkey Kong 2: Return of Jumpman", by Jeff Kulczycki (jeffsromhack.com). This is MUCH harder than the original, and it's even longer, with 6 levels to master before you can finally defeat DK. If you're having trouble with a level, try an easier difficulty!
Thanks alot to NG admins Tom and Mike for helping out when they can, and to BabeGamer for convincing me to start this :)
I had a lot of fun making this game, I hope you guys enjoy it and don't get too frustrated, it's supposed to be HARD!

There's a reason we've worked through different generations of gaming. I get the nostalgia appeal- although nobody playing this is old enough to remember when this first came out. But the level design begs for a more modern control scheme than the original game allowed. You're committed to every jump- and on the first level you're doing nothing but jumping and climbing. And you're dead if you make a single mistake. This isn't good design- it's just frustrating. There's a difference between challenging design and frustrating design. It's a very very important thing to learn when designing games. The game doesn't cut any slack or allow players to adapt.
In short- the level design begs for players to NOT die when they fall and to be able to change direction in the middle of jumping. Because of this, the game fails to create a fair challenge. Challenge should be about testing what the player CAN do not what they CANNOT do.
Ok.

Every good game needs a sequel.
And for Donkey Kong, this is it.
