Howl is based on a dream I had as a dog in hell and is influenced by the 8-bit style Japanese Horror game Yume Nikki and the animated film The Plague Dogs. The theme of judgement is based on ancient Egyptian mythology where the living's heart is weighed against the feather of truth.

Howl is more of a proof of concept and an interactive movie than an actual game, but I hope you all find some enjoyment in the style and message it tries to convey. If anyone is genuinely interested and willing to work with me to create a working game, I would be more than honored. Until then, Howl will be a hobby and production of a full game will take a while.

Credits are at the end.

All comments - hateful, loving, and neutral - are welcome. :-)

EDIT: I give thanks to the few who have rated and reviewed this so far. It's great to see even a small part of the community is interested in the concept. I'm going to do my best to get a full and working piece out, but it may take a few months. Sorry to disappoint those who wanted a fully fledged game.

EDIT 2: I'm proud to announce that I have made a partnership with a fellow student at my college to help me out with a full game. Also, I'm glad to see that most people are giving this a low rating because it's short or unfinished rather than it's a shit subject. It makes me feel like I'm actually making something worthwhile. *tear*

In all honesty, I would love to see a full version (Or, at least, a little bit more)
It seems like it could be a interesting game, really. Is a shame that you coudn't do more.

Seriously?

Why do people post stuff like this on the main site? There is a place for things like this...... it's called "The Dumping Grounds". It was made specifically for unfinished games/videos, betas, and first attempts. You should stop wasting peoples time only post finished products on the main site.

I'm glad you liked it so much you hated that it ended. ;-)

EDIT: Also, it's been at least five or six years since I last visited Newgrounds. I apologize for not knowing that I'm not allowed to post a "proof of concept". If you could direct me to this dumping grounds, I'll gladly take this down.

*imitating the elderly* Back in my day, Whippersnapper... Newgrounds was riddled with shit and unfinished animations. *smack smack*

finish it..

was really hoping to give this a high score, but i cant for half of a game.
i liked the characters, animation... and almost the story (if there's one to be found)
the best part was the music, reminded me of final fantasy 7 (which has one of the best musical scores of any video game of all time)
please finish it, and i know we'll have a front page submission.

Yes sir! I'm a full-time student at college so working on large(ish) projects like this is a little difficult, but seeing as 3/3 people who have reviewed so far are rather interested gives me a kick in the butt to motivate me to make something great.

Thanks for the feedback. :)
