Los Dos Escaladores

Author Comments

Los Dos Escaladores is the heart-wrenching story of two Mexican mountain climbers and their struggle to make it up an infinitely tall mountain. Only you can help them reach the top.

WASD controls Señor Uno, Arrow keys controls Señor Dos. Use the 'S' key for Señor Uno to kick Señor Dos up ledges, and the Down arrow key for Señor Dos to drop a rope for Señor Uno.

A note on "impossible distances": Try jumping with Señor Dos right before kicking him with Señor Uno for a much more effective kick! This should allow you to bridge any gap. Have fun!

Not bad

Not bad, but here are some suggestions:
- Include game instructions into the game
- The story/objetive should be into the game too
- The idea is good, but the controls are confussing for a single player
- The levels are random, but sometimes is impossible to reach the next platform
- The graphics could be improved a little more
Anyway, i like the basic idea, good luck with the game!

JasonPKaplan responds:

Yeah, instructions and story could be included in the game. Mostly, time was a limitation (this was made for a jam, and I only really spent a day on it). It is a bit tricky for a single player... but actually, playing with two people is probably even more difficult and hard to manage, hahah.

As for the impossibility, try jumping with Dos right before kicking with Uno, it results in a kind of "super kick" which, once you learn to control it (as it's rather wild and hard to control) should bridge any impossible gaps.

And, I can't speak to the graphics. I'm really not much of an artist, I did my best. :) Thanks for the feedback!

Review

Awesome work on the game itself. The music loop is way too short. You had plenty of space to include the whole piece.

JasonPKaplan responds:

Thanks! Hmm, I got the music from here: http://soundcloud.com/razieltovar/spa nish-guitars So there's not much more song to use. Do you know the piece? Is there more to it? It was surprisingly difficult to find a good (useable) dueling Spanish guitar piece, heh.
