I'm posting it here just to see what others think, so please let me know!

Rave time?
I would have dispensed that D:
by the other reviews, it looks like you couldn't fool many with "the end" :D
but it's a nice game
a bit short and a little bit limited but it's ok

Cute
Really cool and fun little game. I enjoyed. Although I think that giving a false ending was a bad idea. Still awesome.

Surprisingly entertaining.
This really was a distillation of the metroidvania concept, and it was surprisingly playable. I think there's just something odd about this type of game that makes it enjoyable to people, even when backtracking through areas is far more laborious than it was here. You even included a fake ending like the most recent Castlevania 2d games. Add a "new game +" mode and it'd be totally perfect. lol

Seriously, for safety reasons
You need to warn people that are susceptible to seizures that there is something like that at the end. You don't anybody getting hurt because of a game you made. Other than that, not bad.

OK...
Quite fun, completed (actual ending). Pretty short, but it was done in a day and a half.
Anyway; couldn't you have just spent more time adding new levels? I don't care how long it takes for people to make a game as long as it's good.
And thanks for almost giving me a bloody seizure at the end...
