This game is Awesome

I bought this game on steam last week and am loving the replay-ability of it. Each Level is randomly generated with randomly generated items. there are tons of powerups and weapons to use. The bosses are all very unique and interesting. and the ending is scary as hell. I personally still havent defeated mom.. her damn thieghs are just so .... fat... Anyone who's got 5 dollars to spare should definitely pick up this game. Its got hours and hours of replay-ability including previously mentioned random levels and items. Unlockables the further you progress that include new characters, new weapons, new utility items. Also you really start to feel for Isaac the more you play. It seems like the more you learn about his life the more you want him to succeed.

In short.. BUY THIS GAME!

High-quality game

You got a good game here, I'll tell ya that. Great music, great voice-acting, good art, smooth gameplay, obviously well-programmed (making a randomly-generated map based game isn't easy to make look good). Story was certainly unique, I gotta say. Personally I am/have been a Christian, and frankly I don't see why anyone should be insulted by the story. Sure, it's putting something weird out there, suggesting God is telling someone to sacrifice their child, but honestly, it's a game, and I for one don't ask a video game to correlate to my beliefs--I ask it to entertain me, and this game does that. Well done, I must say. 4/5 and 8/10 for now, simply because I'm too tired to play the game anymore (it's 4am here) and can't fully judge it. Tomorrow for sure!
PS:
For God/Allah/Yahweh's sake, you reviewers who nay-say this game's story line, research your own damn religion before asking the Game Designers to. This is clearly a (dark) modern spin on the story of God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. Honestly, get a sense of humour.

Doesn't compel me to buy it

I feel for you guys in that Super Meatboy is a really, really hard act to follow and I'm not saying this is a bad game it just feels... meh. That's the best way to put it. It's just not exciting and you're main (and what looks like only) weapon is underpowered. I realize the shooting was based on Robotron/Smash TV but why can't I aim diagonally? The fire rate is too slow, the damage is minimal on even basic enemies with an upgrade and even that doesn't help too much. The spread of your fire is too spread out and you sometimes miss enemies an inch away. Plus the lack of variety in weapons, powerups not being well explained until you use them and once you use them it's rare to find another one like it.

The art and humor was right on the money, just as good as Meatboy. But the big problem is the lack of variety and the shooting being so underpowered. For all I know the variety issue is resolved in the full game but for what is supposed to be a teaser/shareware it doesn't inspire me to keep playing like good Shareware is supposed to. I mean, come on, even the flies take 3-4 hits to kill, that many hits to kill one annoying low-level enemy?
