Something must be wrong with me..

Because I couldn't get down with this.

The excessively bloody element (meaning that almost every character shoots balls of blood and explodes upon dying) seemed a LITTLE over the top. It wasn't aesthetically pleasing and it didn't add anything to the gameplay.

And as for the gameplay, it was essentially The Legend of Zelda...without the charm or graphics. Furthermore, there really isn't much of a pay off. You go from dungeon to dungeon and kill demons with your tears. This seems a bit repetitive to me.

Clearly I'm in the minority here, I just think a game that uses the gimic of gore has to be also fun and entertaining to play, and this was neither of those things.

HARD BUT FUN HARD IN A FAIR WAY

I already bought this on Steam days ago (when it was like 50 cents off), and I played it a decent chunk since then, and I gotta say I'm not usually into these games, I don't always get the idea, I was thrown off a little by there being no save feature, but then I found out that's the point, you're supposed to play it in one sitting, because like Spelunky, randomization is a major factor of the game.

Very good mix of creepy + funny, classic Zelda dungeon exploration and combat, and a pretty complex but randomized upgrade system that keeps you playing hoping for a lucky find.

Most importantly, I couldn't stop the game from being fun for me, no matter if I don't like being creeped out or if I thought the humor was sometimes really gross (but it's never too gross to turn me off of the game, it's just cartoony).
