ehhh

It's ok, it could use some improvement, for example the lag.

I Love You Guys

Let's keep the good times coming, this had better not be the last zombie game you guys make, because if it is I'm committing internet suicide and never touching a computer again.

Very different from others in this series

Wow, well you had me hooked for about 3 hours. There aren't many games that I will play for more than two hours, and when I do play a game for 2hrs+ then that means I really love it. The last games in the series had you behind a barrier surviving waves. In this one, you don't have the safety of the barrier and you need to run around the city dodging zombies. I like that you took a zombie defense series and added a game that has a little "RPG" feel to it in the sense that you need to gather supplies and do quests and whatnot. Loved it a lot! 5/5 10/10, in my opinion one of the best zombie games on Newgrounds.

Great game

For people complaining about lag, the problem is your slow CPU - the game runs great on my dual-core laptop or brand new work desktop (with no graphics card), but lags on my 8-year-old Pentium 4 desktop (which, incidentally, has a much better graphics card than either of the above).

Some tips for the game - your companion is important. You have a choice of two, but they have the same abilities - whichever one you choose, give them the most rapid firing automatic weapon you have, because they have unlimited ammo, and you don't. Don't use explosive weapons around them, since that is the only way they can be killed (aside from you dying while they have been knocked down).

Alternate between a melee weapon and a gun - only use your gun when a horde attacks, otherwise you will run out of ammo if you are not careful. Even if you don't put points into 'blunt' or 'blade' skill, melee weapons will still be effective since they will always hit. In contrast, your bullets will often miss, especially if you have low skill or accuracy. During melee combat, move close to hit, then move back to try and avoid the zombie's attack. Repeat until dead (the zombie, not you).

Some skills are more important to train up than others. 'fitness' is useless, unless you are going to be doing a lot of jumping and running which isn't useful in this game. 'first aid' isn't useful since you should have tons of first aid kits left over, even on hard mode. 'smarts' has very little effect. 'special weapons' are few and far apart, and, as I said above, have a tendency to kill your companion.

Essential skills include pistol and automatics (unless you are playing melee only, which actually works really well if your companion has a machine gun to back you up), searching (increases your odds of finding good weapons and stuff), and survival (more so on 'hard' difficulty). In this game, long guns are not so useful except for a brief part of the mid-game, where shotguns are the best weapon available.
