Dunno if anyone else has this problem but when I enter the subway everything turns "street light yellow" and the only thing I can see are the fore ground elements. I had to equip a long melee weapon and slash my way blindly until my cursor either picks up a selectable or if i reach the end of the hall train station the only parts that turns back to normal is inside the train. the rest of the game is fine.

Tip for the new gamer:

the fastest way to kill a zambie cop/w shield is to turn your back on him and approach him with a stab!stab!stab!stab! you'll easily kill it with 46+ attack damage.

Sweet hermaphrodite Jesus! This game kicks ass! It's like Left 4 Dead mixed with very interesting and useful RPG elements. I remember playing the last 2 games. Nothing to special, stand behind a bunker, walk for limited area, and shoot zombies. You had to keep your barrier intact and choose your loadout with guns and weapons you find. This is a refreshing, new step for the series. While it does feel like kind of an outlier for the rest of the trilogy (or however many games there are), it really sets the bar high for future games. I've seen zombie games that are made by big production companies and shiz and they probably couldn't make a game half this good (although The Last of Us and L4D are fun).

I especially like how your companions in this game are actually useful, unlike some other zombie games. You can swap weapons with them, and they can brutally murder any zombies that you come across. And when they're down, their screams for you to help them sound so sincere, it's like they're real people. But it's kind of annoying how sometimes they just run out and rambo their way into whole hordes. And it's also pretty annoying how you can have only ally at a time. While that's not really a bad mechanic, it's also not really a good one either.

Something else to cover is the story. MMMM! that's some good story. You're a guy/gal just looking for his/her wife/husband. While it's not really new or innovative, it's effective.

To get a little nit-picky, I guess some of the guns in this game are kind of annoying. With some being low damage, and others being grossly inaccurate, melee weapons are certainly more reliable. Not to say ALL of the guns are bad, just some of them.

The customization at the beginning of the game isn't too limited, without being super detailed and lasting hours like Skyrim. The characters themselves look... odd. Like, the animation from the last two games is still here, so of course you look like that. But I simply can't shake the feeling that no matter what I do, my character's ugly as hell. The sound effects are good, some being recycled from the last two. But I feel that that actually is more effective then adding new sounds. It makes it feel even more like you're still in that universe of the game. Think of a game like Halo 3, and then think of Halo 4. The sounds are really different, right? I like them and all, but seriously, the Assault Rifle didn't need to sound like a monster.

Overall, good game. 5/5
