Kurestal Kingdom has prospered under the diligent reign of its King. However, the current King is already old of age - and has no heir. His Majesty has hence declared a league - The King's League - that whoever emerges champion will be eligible to battle him and ascend his throne.

1. The option to Surrender will available if the battle lasts longer than 30 seconds.

Needs more diversity to keep things interesting

Games got a good idea going, except that its too easy after a certain point, based from what I've seen the game is all about strategy. However the game suffers the same fate as Final Fantasy tactics, you get an army of characters, but you only get to choose 4, which you make super super strong while the others are left in the dust. How could you fix this? well how about in certain battles you up or decrease the number of allowed soldiers? say in season 2 of the league battles, every 3rd battle requires the player to use 10 soldiers instead of 4 and in season 3 you gotta use 2 or 3. It would make for some interesting mix ups since I wouldn't be able to use my strategy of having my crusader tank everything with 2 archers while my cleric heals when I'm being rushed by 10 cavalry. Also, I didn't really see much point to using wizards since archers seem to be so much better at fighting at both melee and range. Perhaps wizards could cause random debuffs on whoever they hit? (damage over time, slowed attack/move speed, etc).

Another thing I'd like to suggest is when you get your warning on upcoming league battles. you should be able to see what kind troops your opponent has at their disposal so you can prepare accordingly for those opponents that give you quite a bit of trouble.

One last issue I'd like to cover is income. I've had to repeatedly restart my game due to the fact that I'd simply not have enough income to compete with my opponents, even when I've conquered all the possible territories I can grab with my current armies. Although the black market has a way of fixing this, it comes up far too late to give you any help aside from swapping gold for food so you can keep training. I'd suggest that since your troops can idle, how come we can't put them to work or something? It would also add some reason to have some troops in reserve, while your current squadron is fighting for you, the reserves are either training, resting or working to help make ends meet.

Aside from the flaws, the game had me going till the very end. I love the artwork and music you put into this. I hope to see more submissions by you.

fun, but not polished in its core mechanics

The game is entertaining, however i died in my first league because of a progression flaw. I had no resources, i could not win matches, conquer territories or win significant quests. I was blocked until the end of the league. The second league i however won easily, obtaining the SSS ranking, just by using 4 special characters all the way through. It's fun to obtain those special characters, but they erased all pretense of strategy the game could have had. I just fired my old squad and put the specials in, after that i didn't lose a single match. I think such special characters should behave differently, thus allowing the player to create new strategies, not make the normal units obsolete.

All right, I guess

Already played it on the sponsor's site, Armor Games. Good game if you enjoy watching characters fight repetitively while having no control over them whatsoever.

Yes, I know the whole point of the game is what you do in between the fights. But even then, it's mostly a matter of grinding and telling your units to train over and over again, with no means of assigning any sort of auto-train. I don't see any version indicators so I don't know if it's been fixed but when I played some training actually increased stats by the wrong amount. Towards the end you've become powerful enough to beat anyone except the king, so any challenge the game had involving picking the appropriately difficult battles has disintegrated at that point and you're left for a long tedious stream of grinding until you're ready. Perhaps it could have used some element of training weaker units to build up a larger army although I'm not sure how that could've been worked in there. If there's a way to replace your units with other units then I couldn't figure out what it was. It seems like a simple feature and a necessity, seeing as you can have units in your reserve beyond the four you're able to use, and those units in reserve will never be able to see battle. It's bad if you wanna try other types of units and especially bad if you wanna bring in hero units.

The graphics and stuff are all nicely done of course, but the gameplay is definitely lacking. I played it all the way through, so don't accuse me of not giving it a fair chance.

A complex yet fun game.

For starters, I have to say this is a great game to start off. It has a unique storyline and gameplay, I don't think I've ever seen a game quite like this one originality-wise. Sure, some might say the game takes a few elements from other "level-up your characters and fight in arena" games (Such as Pokemon) but it pays off for it.

The game is complex, and a bit hard to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it it's quite a fun game. There's a few problems though, such as the game crashing or freezing sometimes- and I'd also like to see a bit more control over the characters in-battle.

Overall the game was a great start, and I'd love to see more games from Kurechii.

Addicting

One of my favorites in a while! Though I would prefer a more in-depth guide/walkthrough manual for some Training options confused me. For example: What's the point of giving agility to mages? Wouldn't Reading > Chess? Also, are Archers supposed to learn Swordplay or Gym? Is Agility > Strength? I did not quite understand the statistics.

Bring on the sequel!
