Crystal Story is a turn based rpg that uses a random dungeon generator. You control four characters and configure what skill sets they learn along the way. You can earn equipment upgrades that will help you traverse through Evil Cave by destroying monsters or playing minigames.

some things are not clear
Firstly I really liked the game but I needed some help that wasn't in any of the help topics in-game.
Does critical affect spells? I've never seen my magician crit, even though I have crit rating on almost all pieces of his gear. And if spells cannot crit, why make magician weapons with a critical stat?
Do my stats change after a skill reset? For example, if I raised a healer for 20 levels could I still make a fighter with proper fighter stats if i reset?

Fun
I enjoyed this game. The difficulty curve is insane, which makes it fun, although it did force me to grind quite a bit. I shouldn't have an enemy the same level as me almost kill one of my characters in one attack; this overpowering of enemies forced grinding. However, because there is a chance upon entering a room of having a chest appear, if items are needed, one can simply clear two rooms and move back and forth between them as many times as he wants, getting the chest whenever it appears.
By the way, the chest thing I just mentioned really felt like cheating, although the enemies were so damned strong I felt that getting a few extra potions or a couple hundred gold wasn't a bad thing.
I couldn't really find any bugs, but I did find a mistake: the item called "I Poison Pndt" doesn't truncate its decimal properly. It shows that I get a +Poison 8.399999 (ad infinitum), when it should round to the nearest tenth like all other items seem to do.
The classes felt a little clunky... many times I found my mage doing more melee damage than my fighter, which seemed very strange to me. I realize that the characters' stats are largely based on equipment, but a mage should never out-melee a fighter. It wasn't really a problem, because my mage owned, but I'm just saying that as far as other games go, mages are typically physically weak.
Regardless, I am enjoying this game, and will continue playing it until I beat it.
