Crystal Story is a turn based rpg that uses a random dungeon generator. You control four characters and configure what skill sets they learn along the way. You can earn equipment upgrades that will help you traverse through Evil Cave by destroying monsters or playing minigames.

This isn't bad

The artwork and music could use alot of work.

Idk why I'd need to clarify this; this game looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old and the author is more than twice that age. All of his artwork resembles formless anime blobs, with anime stylings and faces; The music is really basic, synth heavy nonsense, and sounds alot like comissioned elevator music; One of the characters attack animation, only has 2 frames.

All other 8+ reviews make nods to some 'in-culture' reference that was added; ("All the main chars, named after final fantasy girls") or someothersuch nonsense, like how a bug in the game needed to be fixed.

So your buggy, nerd-'homage', would be alot better, if the music and art weren't so poor. It would also help if it didn't imitate, older better games, either. But this is "Lan'strash" after all. This game was still really boring, however stylistically bad you wanted to make it ;)))))))

Good but not great

This game has lots of potential to be great. The dungeon crawling system is well done and the battles are simple and straight-foward which is nice. However, the story is just too played out. I feel that you could have introduced a lot more humor and been more creative and imaginative with the characters and the background of the game. Also the weapon system and skill set systems are way too simple, you really could have made them a bit more intricate. For instance, don't give the equips levels but simply have them evolve into new and more powerful versions as you upgrade them. With the skill trees I feel like a little summary of what each skill actually does might be helpful considering I had no idea if "attack up" was a passive skill or a buff. It's nice you give us an ap reset option but sucks that we have to pay for it. The one thing I will commend you on is the fact that you incorporated the mouse for movement rather than using the arrow keys or wasd; this made it feel similar to the DS touchpen and gave it a feeling of professionalism. Also, it is rather annoying to have to fight every monster in the screen when you only bump into one of them, kinda defeats the purpose of having multiple enemies roaming the screen don't you think?

Great game!

That the Skeleton King has 666 life points is just a coincidence right? RIGHT?
