Not bad. But people are missing the point.
The color of the drivers has NOTHING to do with this game, first off. There's no "racism" here. That's like saying, "Oh, how racist. There is no other ethnicity in Feudal Japan except for the Asians." This game, however, at least tried to give us something fun and challenging.
Boring and buggy. :I
It was ok game,but after level 7 it started hetting boring.
I found some bugs,like sometimes,when you die some sounds start to loop and it sounds annoying.And I think its a bit...racist...
Why are all those train-tank things drivers black?I think that is a bit racist.
It was a good game at start,but then it started being boring&stupid. :(
Nitrome's Steampunk Games are disappointing...
This is a great platformer, and one which is very original! It was challenging too but not to the extreme point of frustration. One thing I'd like to applaud about the design of the levels is such that if you triggered a lift prematurely, you could still get back onto the lift and proceed to finish the level.
Some areas of improvement:
1) Camera movement was awkward.
If you pointed in either the left or right general direction, the camera would slowly move all the way in that direction even if you didn't point it all the way. The camera would also refuse to move vertically. Consequently, it made the game feel rather uncomfortable to play and also made it such that...
2) Aiming is difficult.
In combination to the camera movement, it was also difficult to aim. It seems that the chain always fired a bit off your cursor, which is also the default mouse cursor rather than some kind of crosshair to help you aim. It is not helped by the fact that the chain doesn't leave a straight trail from your gun but will in fact drop. Furthermore, it seemed like the hitbox for my projectile and for my targets are a bit slim.
3) The boss fights were not well done. They're the same on both the first and the 2nd (and last) time.
You could initiate the boss fight and simply stayed on a ledge and started sniping him as he moved around. He can't hit you because his only form of attack is to simply ram you with poison gas spraying. However, if you fell off the ledge and onto the boss arena itself, then you have to play in this way:
* Boss moves around like an 8. Starting from the middle, he would form a circle downwards and towards one side, then loop around and back to the middle, take a break, and thereafter he'd do the same in the opposite direction.
* Basically, you have to know which side he's gonna loop from. If he moves right, you have to be on the left. You have to shoot him when he takes a break in the middle, then quickly follow his direction when he circles (ie: if he circles right, you follow him to the right), otherwise he will move back to the middle and you can't get to the other side and thus will unavoidably get hit.
So basically the boss fight was just following this pattern. There wasn't much strategy like using the chains to make platforms to avoid his attack or using ricochets.
Other than these minus points, this is an excellent game. Well done!
Awesome game!!! I loved it! However, level 8 on the 3rd helper icon thing there is a typo. Instead of "The baron knows we have..." it says "He baron knows we have..." But aside from that, sick game!
