I made this scavenger hunt game for my website and wanted to send it out into further reaches of the inter-tubes. Part one has you searching for items within the flash game here on Newgrounds, so if any of them are really hard to find, post a comment about it and maybe I'll drop a hint (especially if a lot of people ask about the same clue or object). Part two hides the clues among the pages of the website so it's somewhat more challenging, but the site isn't huge so if you can find everything from part one you can handle part two.

Well..

I did have fun playing it. I liked that it was partly riddles, though they were not very difficult. In the flash portion of the game the major drawback was the quality of the images used. I found myself clicking randomly on the rooftop map for some of the clues because I had no idea what I was looking at it was so pixelated. That aside though it was a fun game.

Because you link it as part of the game I am going to have to also review the site game. With the site portion of the game I found that several of the clues were vague. to freeze time could have logically referred to any number of the clocks that were not moving or any photographs on the website or a camera. Same thing with an island. There is a kitchen island in the game, as well as islands on the site background, on a photograph/painting on a wall, and on a map being held in a picture. It is perfectly OK to be tricky, but you should avoid being vague. I would say the same thing with regards to any in real life scavenger hunt as well. I never did in all honesty find said island, but I did find the solution to the next clue so I simply continued on from there. I actually accidentally stumbled upon the final solution relatively early on in part 2 (as well as many other solutions before their time, simply by noticing when the mouse changes). You may want to consider that direct links are not the best idea for a multipart hunt on a website, unless it is all linked to a cookie system that tells the game what clue you are on and you make clickable objects that are simply there to make it so people don't instantly know that something is a solution to a clue.

Those things being said it was a good time but not a great time. I like the style of the hunt and the concept behind the site, but it could use some tweaking. Overall I am confident in giving this a 3/5 and a 7/10. Best of luck and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments about the site, especially about the island clue. I didn't realize there were that many possibilities and that's something I want to avoid. You're absolutely right that vague is no good, and some tweaking may be in order. Thanks for playing!

Meh...

Not a big fan of this type of game but I liked this one more than most. At least the things you were looking for were usually actually a part of the picture rather than badly grafted in as they usually are. If you do another you should have some penalty for randomly clicking, maybe some bonus for completing them quickly, perhaps some hint system, and you should really disable the right mouse button menu; I was able to just advance the animation if I couldn't find an item.

Good start I guess.

it's alright

I always like these kind of games, but this one was really not that creative if you ask me. I like clues to be imaginative and hard to guess, instead of just saying ROPE!

also you can just spam the picture there is no penalty what so ever.

If I do another one for NG I'll keep that in mind and make it harder. This was originally intended for a scavenger hunt website with users not necessarily skilled at these type of games so I didn't want it to be overkill.

For the record, I also prefer more difficulty... I just needed this game to be accessible to all. Hopefully at least a few of the targets took you awhile :)
