UPDATE2: I've taken another crack at fixing the menu bug. I'm trying various things to try to fix it, but since I haven't actually reproduced it myself yet (I told you, it's a weird one), I can't confirm whether I've fixed it without feedback from you guys. Hopefully this new build fixes it!
UPDATE: I've just upload a new build! (August 24th). This build fixes some of the errors you guys were mentioning including the broken blizzard turret, and the broken menu (at least, it should be fixed! That was a weird one.) Thanks for the reports guys.
Alright, So we've gotten a LOT of feedback about MochiCoins, and we've decided to take them out of the game entirely. We hope that you will enjoy this new version.
This is a product of 8 months of juggling school work with production on the game for both the artist, Paul Wang, and the programmer Chris Fuller. I hope you guys like it! WE LOVE YOU ALL!
Aetherpunk is a steampunk, top-down shooter set in an alternate 1904, where aliens have invaded the Earth. Stepping into the shoes of an English country gentleman with a penchant for mad science, you have found your home to be the first landing zone of the alien invasion. Warned by prophetic dreams, you retreat to your fortified tool shed to defend yourself against the alien hordes.
The aliens themselves are equipped with weapons and implants powered by Luminiferous Aether, a fifth state of matter which can be used to violate the known laws of physics. Armed with a fully equipped laboratory and a trusty revolver, you must harvest the aether from the extraterrestrial attackers to create new and more powerful improvised weapons and hold off the alien onslaught as long as you can.
In addition to weapons, you may use a series of skills which carry over through multiple playthroughs. These include the ability to get more damage and range out of your weapons, faster reloads, more health and useful gadgets to boost your abilities.
CONTROLS:
Movement: WASD or Arrow Keys
Aim&Fire: Mouse
Reload: R
Repair Barricades: F
Change Weapons: Mouse Wheel or Q&E
Shop/Skills: Spacebar (In the Workbench Area)

NICE!
this game is amazing, my only issue with it is having to start all over when you die, a checkpoint system at the end of each wave or something would be nice since every time i gather a nice big amount of aether i get killed which is fine every once in a while but wheres on patience and the overall fun of the game. the graphics were nice and this is definitely the best top down defense shooter i have played in quite a while. keep up the good work.

A good game but with several bugs and problems
I liked the game overall. The graphics are good and the enemies are diverse and challenging. The XP and skills are a nice addition (is it intentional that my XP remains when I start a new game?) although some skills seem useless, like instant reloading only on physical-damage weapons, when there are about two of those.
Some weapons also seem interesting (lightning gun, torches) but I've found them not effective enough. The useful weapons were too similar to each other and I didn't get to the best ones b/c they cost a lot.
In later stages enemies sometimes got into the enclosure despite the barricades being fully repaired.
The frustrating thing is that in advanced levels I can really get killed way too easily and then I have to start over again. The skirmishers hit me without being able to retaliate (I think they would have been challenging enough even if they could be hit while shooting), and I don't even notice the hit if I don't follow closely on the health bar. Perhaps the screen should redden a bit or something... I have all skills but one and I don't think I'll be able to get any further.

Nice
It is true that the aliens take a while to get to the barriers, but they make up for it by destroying them quickly, overwhelming you in the blink of an eye. There are some glitches though. Some aliens will walk through the walls, others will duplicate after being shot by a single-shot pistol. The one that got me though was the lag after I started using the best long gun and the Hell turret. It is more likely that my computer is acting up, but the lag should be taken into consideration.
