Written for the Ludum Dare 21. The theme was escape.
It's about a child who struggles with bullying.
I'm not sure what your message is...
I tried hugging, stomping, avoiding... All ends up in failure. So unless there's an ending I'm missing, you pretty much seem to be saying 'if you're being bullied your doomed'. That's a pretty damning message. You could interpret it as there's no avoiding it, and escaping doesn't work but still... I have been bullied in the past, so I know you can come out of it fine. And if you want it to be a 'try, try and try again' game, then you may want to make it shorter, and the choices more obvious- so that if there is an ending people miss, they actually want to play through again, while I got bored pretty quickly of trying to research the tunnels for an alternative. Nice set up and a good attempt, but more colours, choices and less 'keep jumping till you get it', might help. I did like how you set the environment up to symbolise the progression : Big, open spaces where you ascended before the bullies, and closed, descending tunnels after. I thought this might have been a clue, and kept looking to go up, but still- no better ending.

The people giving this game low scores were probably never bullied themselves and so don't really understand it.
This was a very well done game. I've been bullied myself, so I relate to this a lot.
This has been done before but the story is just...bullying? No one get this bullied and for no reason. People tend to leave you alone if you leave them alone so this was just too much. Try to make something most people can relate to. The graphics were nice but the words flooding my screen was overdone. EVERYTHING being red is bad. Using color as symbolism works better when there is more than one color. Other than that not bad. I liked the platforming and the controls were right on. The only prob i had sometimes was hitting my head when i had little room.
P.S. People can be cruel but but to anyone who has been bullied get over it. Everyone grows up and get on with there lives. To anyone being bullied currently, the person who is doing it you probably has some low-self esteem problems or family problems so they have to take it out on someone else. But like i said before, you'll get over it.
The idea behind this is nice
But the visual concept is just.. harsh..
Along the ending of the game, the flashing of texts and red background just don't do well.. It's giving me a headache.
The game is simple though, but it'd be nice if the enemies would disappear(or at least stunned) when jumped on. It's increasingly difficult on the narrow hallway, because the character is slower than the enemy, and keep taking damage.
Overall, it's quite nice, but could do a lot better, like giving puzzles instead of just running around and jumping
