Finally, after more than a year of development I am proud to present this Nanobeast to fellow newgroundians.
The game is a challenging retro shooter with an interesting upgrade system that involves collecting power-ups. However, when you collect a power-up (P) that does not mean you have upgraded immediately. You get to choose how to use those power-ups to upgrade your general stats:
- speed of your ship (you need 1 power-up)
- power of your weapon (you need 2 power-ups)
- fire rate of your weapon (you need 3 power-ups)
- bombs (you need 4 power-ups)
- lives (you need 5 power-ups)
There are 2 additional weapons to be collected as you play: missiles and side gun.
There are 27 medals to be achieved, go get them!!!
CONTROLS:
Use the arrow keys to move
Press 'A' to shoot left
Press 'D' to shoot right
Press 'S' to activate your current power-up level
Press 'W' to release a bomb
The game is generally very challenging. There are three difficulty settings: normal, hard and insane. There is no easy.
The highscore system multiplies your score depending on which difficulty setting you play and how many medals you have collected.
The game features original 8-bit music written especially for 'Nanobeast' by Christian Erenskjold a.k.a Coffee-Break, a very talented NG musician. Other musicians who also contributed are listed in the credits.
I have been developing and beta testing this game heavily for a long time. Any feedback and ideas will be greatly appreciated.

It's a fairly good game.
Ok, so the first thing i noticed about the game was the name of the creator(%u0417%u0434%u0440%u0430%u043 2%u0435%u0439), not enough Bulgarians around this place.
Now for the actual review.
Gameplay:
The first level is deceptivly easy. Also while firing i couldn't go diagonally backwards and up, that bug was fixed in the later levels. Secondly the power up system reminded me of a simular top-down shooter(an old one) called Star Monkey, there if you upgraded the damage your ship slowed down. It made for some interesting strategy. That game was also much harder than this one.(At least untill the point i saw the game)
The second level is when the game picked up for me, but i feel that the levels were needlessly long. Nothing interesting happened, stuff lik emore mini boss fights would have made for a better experience. Also more steering sections, can be good. Another game of the same type made good use of those (Jets and Guns).
Graphics.
Very nice pre mission charecters , but i HATE the shit design on both the Nanobeast and enemies. Its very dull. The backgrouds are very stale and could use some improving. The bosses should look menacing
.
Sounds:
Loved the music and the regular sounds did what they were supposed to. I loathed the voice of the scientist.
Plot:
Nonexistant, but with no need for one,
All in all a solid game, could use a little polish in some areas.

Umm...no. Just no.
I don't know about advertising your upgrade system, which isn't really that original, just a bit different. Also, way too hard, and you should start each chapter with the same amount of lives each time (cause nanobeast gets repaired after each wave, right?). Lastly, there are some nasty glitch-bug-stickeykeys thing in this game that sometimes makes some of the keys on my keyboard stick, therefore I crash uncontrollably. So yeah
This is not your "click, click, yay I win!" kind of game. There are too many of those out there. For this game you have to pay attention, learn and improve in order to beat it. Please stop making shit up just because you did not have the patience and dedication to win.

Really? Front Page?!?
How did this game get front page? It doesn't work on chrome without tweaking, and on iex the controls don't work properly.. the keys work/stop working at random. Could we polish these errors before releasing this? Do we have a solution?
