Sensations

I made this short after doing a series of multimedia paintings about the moral dilemmas behind altering our bodies to obtain perfection and/or immortality. It's an issue I see possibly happening in the future, but may not be a concern in my lifetime.

I confused...

so its a robot with a mind of a human that remembers the feeling of touching and stuff,
while searching for it, he enjoys the beach, landmarks, etc.
but when he reach his destination (at last), he(it?) didn't find that sensation there.
Anyway, its a great animation and confusing one at that!
:D

Thanks! :)

From the looks of it, you seem to really travel a lot.

Beefsoup responds:

I wish it were true, but a lot of the pictures are from slides I found in a box in a scraps store. It was really a treasure trove.

Well its all about perspective

For someone who's goal in life happens to require an immortal body than I would say go ahead and become immortal. But if it doesn't actually serve any real purpose and you just want to play and enjoy life to the fullest than don't do it. As for wishing for the five senses well that isn't a problem for a machine the only thing it lacks is a soul. You can give a machine a personality be it the speech or other various mannerisms, likes, dislikes, general appearance can all factor into creating a thinking process for the machine to the point that it appears to have a "soul". Of course it isn't certain that a soul couldn't enter a machine and I've read a few fictional stories on that. But I don't think it would be very likely and there's no guaranteeing the machine won't act according to its own functions regardless of the possession. Anyway being immortal is a lonely occupation and other immortals will probably have clashing objectives that can start very bloody wars. For an immortal the death of every one else on the planet would be second the most desirable outcome. The first that everyone gets along or at least place themselves in solitary confinement. Man is the no.1 reason for the fall of man and immortals are the no.1 reason for the fall of immortals. Another thing that seperates immortals is the sheer experience generated over time. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that those under 100 years are children in the eyes of the immortal. Just tossing ideas out there for the careless observer.

Beefsoup responds:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. My views and feelings on this issue could also go on for pages and pages. That's why I felt compelled to make this film- not to prove a point, but to ponder my ideas.

Amazing effects

Good work and good animation

Beefsoup responds:

Thank you so much!
