Addicting
I have spent hours digging in this game

seems like it could've been great, but...
first, the upgrade prices are ridiculous... why only a few hundred for the first level upgrades, then the second ones immediately take the prices WAY out of your range, into the tens of thousands?!
its impossible to earn that kind of money early on, when all there is to find is coal and iron, but to find iron you gotta go so damn deep and even the first cargo upgrade costs a ton, by time you get close to filling it up with better stuff, fuel is getting low, and you're forced back to the top, thus making ALL of your efforts completely useless!
i cant count how many times the money i earned was immediately spent just to refuel my drill... maybe making a profit of a couple dollars, if any at all.
the items are also a huge waste of money, single-use only? seriously?
most of that stuff, fine... but the teleporter item should've been infinite, so we wouldnt have to waste so much fuel and make collecting materials completely pointless.
i decided then to not buy fuel anymore, and kept filling up my cargo with tons of iron and coal... what happens? ...i get "rescued", they take ALL of my money, and not only that, they completely EMPTY my cargo, but the cargo gauge remains where it was, just to give me false hope.
i go to sell my cargo, it resets the gauge to empty, and i get $0!
this game needs to be worked on some more, i was generous with the rating i gave it... it needs cheaper upgrades, possibly respawning materials, especially if the game doesnt have an end to it, and when being rescued, they shouldnt rob you of everything you own, including your damn soul.
until these things are corrected, its just a frustrating mess that is impossible to beat, anyone who says they beat it... i doubt its true, unless they're using cheats.

What JonnyGOBOOM said! :)
He said allmost everything there was to say realy.
There is one thing i would like, an upgrade realy realy hard to get, couse when i got the diamond drill and the highest cooling system i just didn't bother playing anymore, like the others say, a high speed mega awesome drill, couse i would have drilled every last bit of dirt if i was going alot faster.
But all in all, i loved it, took out alot of my time.

Stupid newbies.
People need to stfu about Motherload, just because one person mentioned it, every punk there after has to act like they've known all about that game all these years. It, Motherload, was posted in 2005 and most of these kids just got on NG yesterday.
I will say that I "cheated" when I played this.
At the beginning, I just kept drilling, without picking up any of the minerals, until I ran out of fuel and would be sent right back up to the top without any consequences because I had zero moneys to begin with. Irregardless if you have money or not, if you complete some of the 'quests/accomplishments' in game, you will get some moneys and I would use that to buy the fan, fuel and drill upgrades to dig out clear paths further down before I started harvesting the minerals.
I liked the game, very simple and clean graphics and it wasted a lot of time. Though, like some other people have mentioned, a speed or movement upgrade would've helped a lot.

How do you end the game?
So I've mined every last bit of dirt in the game, there is nothing left for me to mine yet the game doesn't end? Shame really but even so this is an awesome game!!
