Alight is a platformer that mixes exploration and reflexes and more than a little story. Move with the arrow keys, fly with the space bar or up arrow. If you find yourself having trouble getting much altitude, trying pressing the space bar at a slower pace until you find the right rhythm. And remember that you can always drop down out of a flock of birds without using a flap of your wings with the down arrow key.

Every time you enter a door, your game is automatically saved, and you can replay a level at any point.

If you're amazed by the music like we were, you should check out Smiletron, who made the song -- he has a web site at smiletron.org and more songs at 8bc.org/members/SMILETRON

A great excuse to use the same scenery repeatedly

Bad controls, numbing puzzles, unenjoyable monotony. Someone needs to explain to that when you make a game and try to make it artsy, flesh out the mechanics and playability first.

-_-

overall i never finished this game, cuz when i get bored i like a game that keeps me going, not one that shows an interesting story but makes you continuously try and fail in order to move on, all i was interested in was whether er not he was dying in a fire or something else was going to happen, but im not planning on sitting here for half an hour to fail enough times to learn a goddamned level.

From the perspective of an "uncultured person"

All the elements of this game are stock. The graphics, the music, none of it is original or meaningful. There are no real gameplay challenges, the character is not fun to control. The environments are stiff and uninteresting. The metaphor is total contrived bullshit. This game has basically no redeemable qualities.

You can't just slap some trance music onto your game and call it art. You have to have a message. You have to work it into gameplay. What is the message here? It doesn't challenge anything, it doesn't erupt any feelings, all it does is meander around a vague and uninteresting metaphor.

The only explanation I can think of is that this is some kind of Wayans brothers parody of bullshit arty games but even then it isn't that great.

Sydney shark is more of an art game than this.
