Same problem at Argos.

I used to have the exact same problem when working for Argos. Except you could check to see if it was in stock with the terminals by the catalogues. Yet every other day you would ALWAYS get some retard come up to the order desk and go...

Customer: "Excuse me, I just checked your stock and it says your sold out of (insert item here). Could you look in the back for me please to see if you have one left?"

Me: "Sorry Sir / Ma'am, our terminals list everything that is in stock. If the terminal says its out of stock then I'm afraid its out of stock".

Customer: "Could you just go check for me please?"

Me: "No problem, I'll be back soon."

Cue ten minutes of me sitting in the staff break room having a cup of coffee.

Other staff member: "Another moron asking for something thats out of stock?"

Me: "Ayup."

Customers tend to be pretty dumb.

Way too true!

I used to work at Wal-Mart, when ever someone got to the point of asking me to check in the back, I went to the backroom, stood there for 10 minutes just to stay away from the stupidity of the customer...then go out to them with a bit of a frown and tell them.."No sorry, we do not have it in the back either." This video is so true about how dumb shoppers are.

My experience last week...

(Somebody put the fire pits in the wrong spot)

Lady: "So how much is this fire pit?"

Me: "Hold on, I'll have to check."

Lady: Well it's this right here! $24.95!"

Me: "No ma'am that's the stand right next to it."

Lady: "Well they listed it there, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o that's the price."

Me: "As much as I'd like to do that for you miss, I can't."

(Insert 20 mins of fat middle aged woman repeating "Not my problem.")

I remember working at Toys R' Us a while back, and you'd always, ALWAYS get those idiots who thought you didn't know what you were talking about and would ask someone to check in the back, just in case someone didn't know what was going on. This is just about how I felt about "checking in the back" ha ha.

What do people think they have back there? A vortex that rips open time and space, and you can access a world where the item is in stock, and they're not an IDIOT for waiting until the day before Christmas to go shopping? I wish!

Customer: Hey do you have anymore of these action figures?

Me: No, we've been sold out for quite sometime and we get our trucks on Tuesdays and we didn't get any this week.

Customer: Do you know if you got some in on Thursday?

Me: No, since we get our shipments on Tuesdays..

Customer: Can you check the back?

Me: I actually just checked back there for another customer about 10 minutes ago.

Customer: and ..

Me: I'll go check :l ..
