A great idea :)
You should have the skip button tell you the answer though... even the argument "but then you'll know it if it comes up again if you play again" is moot because the opposite will be true as well, that you STILL won't know it if it comes up again in a subsequent playthrough.
True, but there are only 45 silhouettes so I was affraid that when I did show the answer people would try to learn all 45 people and get a highscore like that. So yeah, I could've gone both ways.

Excellent and challenging game!
I like history, and this game combines fun with history, which is a really interesting mix. The silhouettes meant Googling was impossible if you don't know the person in the first place. I find this really clever!
I think this game should be less focused on the history of the last two centuries. Most of the people in the game are from the 19th and 20th centuries. Also, Mao is the last name while Zedong is the first. In many cultures the last name comes before the first name.
Oh fudge, sorry about the Mao Zedong mix-up then. I'm actually thinking of doing themed versions of this game. Like a music version, movie, writers. That leaves room for a larger stretch of time.

A lot o' fun
I really enjoyed this one.
It was a good idea that was implemented beautifully.
The only thing that could make this better would be(and I'm just going off of your comments below):
1 - a lot more people
2 - maybe have 3 different diffculty settings(you could get into a little lesser known people)
With that said, I'm still racking my brain about the bearde director.
I tried every big director I know who has a beard or had one in the 70's.
He did 2001: A Space Oddysey and The Shining to only name a few :) I will keep your suggestions in mind when I decide to make a second one or expand this.

the way you could tell the difference from Charlie Chaplin and Adolf Hitler is that Hitler definitely wasnt a comedian and Chaplin has a hat. This game is very enjoyable
