The Red Queen Effect is a phenomenon in which two sides compete on something (for example, two companies compete on public popularity, or an animal chases another one).
In this kind of competition they both increase the efforts put on defeting the second side, what causes them both to stay at the same place compared with the opponent, which means they could both do nothing and be at the same position.
In this short animation the phenomenon is illustrated by a guy (a stickman, actually) who chases another guy.
It's very short, but enjoy! :)
