Story of the Blanks is a short creepypasta fangame created in Adobe Flash. It was created for a game developing contest at Equestria Gaming

The game is constrained to use genuine NES graphics and graphical limitations (down to the very 8 sprites per line limitation). Most if not all the music in the game was created by various people using famitracker (a NES/famicon tracker).

this was a awesome game, and im guessing most people are confused. so heres my full review. WARNING- SPOILERS AHEAD.
story- applebloom is going out of town when she bumps into twilight. twilight was going to give some books to zecora, so applebloom tags along. while heading back, trees are mysteriously blocking the path! while twilight tries to move it with her magic, applebloom sees another pony run into the bushes. she follow her and is lead to a happy seeming place. but these ponies are acting quite suspiciously. they all dont have any cutie marks! at fist she things this is normal, but then she finds out why they dont... they are all undead! after seeing the pony she followed`s fate, she must run for her life... or she may never get her own cutie mark...
graphics-10- this game has all the awesome 8 bittiness most of us love. it even has that "8 sprites per line" rule that our old buddy the NES had.
sound-10- the person who made the soundtrack really did well. it has the 8-bit feel, and it does a good job of painting a picture in your head. like when your in in the forest you feel calm, but when you are escaping dead town your like "O SH*T".
gameplay-8- i gave this a lower score because there aren't many things to do. you can only move,talk, and occasionally pick things up. another thing is there is no run button, so when sunny town starts going zombie, you can just barely outrun them.
overall-9- this game was fun, spooky and awesome. if you could get the team together and make a sequel i will most definitely play it.
I liked the part where you realize everypony's dead and you have to push the block out of the way to escape as the one ghost slowly advances upon you. It really created this moment where you're like "Ohfuckohfuckohfuck MOVE FASTER DAMN IT!" I think that part of the game could have used more moments like that, or at least have put the block-moving part closer to the end since there's so much tension in that scene.
Coolness and Awesome
It was a very fun game and it certainly satisfied my Pony Itch.
On top of having great music and aesthetic, it had decent writing too.
There was a real sense of uncanny-ness even before the village changed.
The atmosphere of the game was genuinely spooky and unsettling, from the aloof Pony, to the undead hordes.
I only wish it were a little longer. Once I was dropped into the dead town I was really ready to get into a deep mystery, and while it was well executed it was a little simple and over quite quickly.
Still, if all I can complain about is that there wasn't more of it
I had fun in spite of it being a short game. What would happen to Apple Bloom if she touched the undead Ponies actually creeped me out. Congrats. :3
I'm surprised there aren't more mlp:fim games on newgrounds.
