Working with the animation students at Brigham Young University has been a real treat. After much blood, sweat, and tears, we have finally completed Alight. We spent countless hours animating Sparker, the "fire boy," and Aquanna the "water girl," to get the effects and character animation looking just right. To us, they're almost real-life characters by now. We hope you enjoy this unique little piece of Flash animation, mixed with After Effects compositing.

Well done

The animation was excellent, though not perfect - the transition between the water thing lying on the ground and seeping into cracks wasn't so great, for example, and I did not like the castle-explosion.
Character design was great, as was the use of music - no diegetic sounds etc.
My main issue with this was the story. Yes, yes, star-crossed lovers and all; it seemed to lack substance, we weren't given much of a feel for the characters and the ending, while certainly open to interpretation, seemed, to me, somewhat indistinct.
Nonetheless, a great piece. Well put together and fairly enjoyable to watch.
